06 MS6 12,500 miles 2nd gear gone

Just because this is an un-common problem I assume it was faulty, defective and most likely some abuse.... who doesn't like the 1st to 2nd shift with AWD? I myself like the 2nd to 3rd shift, due to my fwd situation...

lately I've been grinding third, it feels like the synchros are going. I also just changed to full synthetic tranny oil at 55 k (could be the problem)

lastly, mt LSD just crapped out and Mazda replaced the diff & 1/2/3rd gear...which is another possibl explanation.

Two weeks ago today i bought an 06 MS6 $20,000 not bad I thought. I drove it exactely 85 miles, and suddenly had no 2nd gear. I bought it from a ford dealership, they told me to take it to Mazda. They are fixing it under warranty. They are replacing 2nd gear, all sychros and putting a new flywheel on it. It has been 2 weeks and they are telling me they dont have all the parts for it,and that they are not in stock and have to be manufactured and sent from Ohio or Japan.
Does this sound right to anyone here ?. I was just wondering if anyone else has had tranny problems with an MS6 ?. I'm guessing the previous owner whipped the crap out of it. Mazda says everthing else looks good on the car.
I'm about to lose my mind !!. I want to drive my car !!!!

I bet the technician is the cause of the leak

I'm pretty sure the tech is the cause of the leak. They said they had to order another part, so I'm waiting for that to come in.

BTW, today is day 50.

This gear block your talking about, sounds like what mine was doing right before it went out so keep an eye on that !. Also when my 2nd went out all gears after that shifted hard in and out of gear, but i guess that explains the all new syncros there putiing in. I swear even though I feel my car may be in the shop alot . I think ill take whatexer comes cause I love It ! P.S I REALLY THINK MAZDA needs to get on the ball with parts for our car..... like having some !

wow tell them to either have the car for you by friday, or to give you a new speed6!

thats what i did lol, cuz mazda really does suck thats no secret. they are practically world renowned for the worst service available. i called them twice a day for the entire time they had my car, and harassed the tech supervisor that was in charge of my car. he knew my voice over the phone and would greet me by name by the end of a week. that puts a hurry on s*** ya know

i always wonder if my car stays at their shop overnight, or if some tech takes it home so he can 'test' it. seems likely to me with how professional mazda is.

Now you've got me a little worried, I bought my car with 4.8k miles on it....... funny thing that worries me (though I don't see how mazda could do it) is they went online and got me a carfax that showed only 1 record, and I even checked when I went home the next day, and it had one record....... then last week I checked carfax to see if my TSB service was on record and it showed I had EIGHT records, I was like WTF where was this when I bought the car?

I think I'm gonna have to shell out $20 bucks just to check the records and be on the safe side.

the weird thing is I had my clutch TSB performed since my car was a Type-A and used the most parts, but it was pretty much just the clutch and pedal and some lines and hoses I don't really think they changed any gears or synchros.

Now that you mention it I may take it into the dealer and have them check it, cause I seriously do not want my car failing 2nd gear on me.

It doesn't stink anymore though, I went around on the highway and streets driving fast and stuff, to get my exhaust and engine hot and "burn off" the stink...... LOL (headbang)

I've got a 2005 Mazda3 which I bought brand new. This Friday, 8/31, it's going in for the FOURTH time for a new purge valve. Anybody else had the same problem so many times? I'm getting totally disgusted. Thanks!
