'06 5 timing belt or chain?

I just turned 140K on my 5. I realized it's still the original water pump and accessory drive belt in there. How often do those need to be changed? The Miata I put over 200K on got 3 belts and 2 pumps over it's life, so I feel over due for this service. No running/driving issues on my 5 yet, it's still plugging away faithfully.
Oh yeah, if it is a belt, is it an "interference" style motor? I had an Escort that junked it's motor from the belt breaking once, I'd rather not repeat that. THe only Mazda place anywhere near me is mostly a Chevy place that also sells a few Mazdas here and there, so I can't just bop down to the dealer for this.

Thank you.

It has a chain and it is an interference motor. You can replace the chain, tensioners and water pump. I don't know the replacement interval of the chain or if there is one. Really you have to pull the cover to inspect the chain and tensioner guides. You can change the water pump without removing the timing cover or chain.
