Hey guys, I just picked up a set of 03.5 MSP RacingHarts but they have quite a bit of curb rash on the outer edges of them. So I was wondering if anyone knew the paint code for the metallic silver color of the 03.5 wheels?

IMHO, just paint them all the same color and as long as its close no one would even know. So it doesnt have to be the exact msp paint code.

I have looked for this in the past, but had no luck finding it (paint code). I hope someone can help us out with this. I was actually thinking of some colors that would look good on the racing harts, yet i can't get over how good the stock color looks.

I sanded it down, started with 150, 300...etc. finished with 2000 doesnt take much sanding at all, but it leaves a much lighter silver color.

What you should see when you sand is that the color is actually three layers.... black, then silver, then clear. The silver is a translucent paint that allows the black undercoat to show through. Thats why the shops charge more to repair/restore the 03.5 wheel. There is no way to get the same exact effect by painting or powdercoating with one color. You need to decide what is close enough for you. Here in the Portland area the best shop wants $250 per wheel to restore as per the original spec, but the powdercoater will match the color as close as he can for $75 per wheel.

I think i already suggested this to you, but you need to talk to a autobody supply store about making a custom brew to do the hyper silver.
Im gonna be doing a reverse by starting with coarse silver and shading it with carbon pearl to get the desired darkness. that way you get the shimmer of the pearl in your midcoat, and the coarse aluminum flakes in the base coat still show through the shade.

you can also start with either a flat black or a black mica base coat, translucent silver midcoat and clear.

id be very surprised if you can actually get the paint code for it, but you can come very close with a custom mix.

looking at my wheels again close.. looks like a black basecoat with corse metalflakes, shaded with transparent silver.

good luck, and don't be afraid to experiment with some custom stuff. spending all the time and money to go straight up hyper silver to me is kinda boring when you can do soooo much more.
