00' protege ES service manual

Hi all!

I am a proud owner of a 00' protege ES. I am glad to have discovered this place on the internet. I already felt there are so much work to do on my protege after reading just a few posts here.

Can anyone give me a url to download such things via email or pm? I've been searching on the forum and it looks like all urls are edited out. Thanks!

what do you need to know? most of us can direct you possibly better than the service manual.

AFAIK, there are no service manuals online for our 1.8L motors, but they are the same engine as the 2.0, but our model used different axles and transaxles than the 2.0's. but pretty much anything that will fit a 2.0 enginewise will fit a 1.8 also.

I am currently planning to change the timing belt and adjust the valve clearance, and I am not sure whether engine tune up is DIY-able...

Doesn't MP3 stands for Mazda Protege 3rd Gen? Someone please move this thread to the right section if it doesn't belong the MP3 section.

theres a 3rd gen forum in these forums.

anyway heres a link to an online protege5 service manual, it should cover timing belts enough for you to do it.

a word of warning: its DIY'able as long as you know what the hell youre doing.

otherwise shell out the ~$400 to have a professional change it, rather than facing a plethora of problems, that you would end up taking back to get done for an additional fee =)
