    Any one hate the tranny in MSP???

    That's weird that some people have to depress the clutch all the way to shift first to second. Mine shifts like butter with onlyabout 2 inches of pedal movement...just enought to disengage the clutch and it slides into the next gear.

    Insurance Costs Everyone

    I'm 38, single, clean record, and I pay $1500/yr with State Farm. That's with $1000 deductible too. I've been with State Farm for 20 years, you'd think I would get a better rate. I tried telling them it was a regular Protege', but I guess they can tell by the vin what model it is. They also...

    question on joe fpr

    I've got the flash and tried it both with and without the FPR. I can't really tell any difference to be honest, but I'm running stock boost.

    Car shopping - is the MSP the best $16k "sporty car"

    Get the MSP, but choose the color carefully. I chose yellow, and I can't go to the grocery store without some 18 year old ricer ******* with me trying to race. I probably should have got the titanium, but I just loved the yellow. Good thing I didn't get the orange..lol.

    California Bay Area Flash

    Nope, wasn't my car..I got mine done last week. Not sure if they checked under the hood. They gave me some crap when I first went in, but after talking to the service manager, I got things straightened out.

    So our car isn't the only one...

    A problem with running that rich is the fuel washes down the cylinder walls and causes increased ring wear. I'll be surprised if we get more than 60k miles before the car starts smoking.

    FPR kit is safe with flash?

    Mine runs fine with the FPR after the flash. I tired it without the FPR and didn't notice much difference.

    Dealers pulling crap

    On the pulling issue..my car has 5k miles on it, and it tracked straight, no pulling. I had the tires rotated and it pulls to the left now.

    ---> *EVERYTHING* ECU fix/comments/thoughts

    After hooking my FPR back up, the car runs great...maybe a little better than without it, but hard to tell. It definitely didn't hurt the performance or driveability.

    ---> *EVERYTHING* ECU fix/comments/thoughts

    I unhooked my FPR kit when I took it in to get the flash. I'm going to hook it back up for the ride home from work and I'll let you guys know if I feel any difference.

    ---> *EVERYTHING* ECU fix/comments/thoughts

    Girth, that's exactly how my car feels too. Better for sure, but still not 100% right. Not complaining though. BTW...my car accelerates harder at 1/4-1/2 throttle than it does at full throttle. Is this normal for this car, or is mine just "special"?

    ---> *EVERYTHING* ECU fix/comments/thoughts

    I went in today to get the flash done and got the total runaround. They said they couldn't do anything without a letter from Mazda. I showed them some of the info from this site and they said they'd check into it and let me know. I took off 1/2 day from work to do this, and I get a bunch of...

    Where is that e-mail..attention all service managers. etc.? I remember seeing it the other day, and need a copy of it now.

    Hi I am new (good day at track)

    What were your times?

    The crow must now be eaten!

    If the a/f is still pig rich, why not run the FPR with the flash? Seems it might make the car run even better at stock boost levels.

    I hate this flash so far!!!!
