Dealers pulling crap

So we took the MSP in for the hesitation, and for some puling to the right. The car has 200 miles on it.

Drop it off and printed the sheet I made with this info I typed up.

1.) There is no official TSB for the hesitation issue.
2.) There was a Tech tip e-mail sent to all of the Mazda service managers around the country about the "Bucking, hesitation" and the email mentions the re-flash or new build with the file name. (Some did not get the email)
3.) Dealers need to update their systems to the "27/4 WDS Update" This will enable them to plug into the diagnostics port to scan, for potential updates.
4.)Once it finds that an update is available it will give them the file name of the flash needed. "Q0AP4C0"
5.)The Techs download it to floppy and load it on the flash tool.
6.)The flash process begins which takes 45 minutes to 1 hour.

They call us back and say, or your car was already flashed at the beginning of the year and there is no problem. That the flash is old news.

We get there and they guy says they have the latest WDS and there are no patches for the PCM, when we told him there was, he said we have the newest WDS as of two weeks ago, when we told him there is a newer one which came out around the 10th, and that was the only way he could download the flash the guy was being a total dick.

On top of that they said they align the cars when they come in new, but lost the alignment sheet. When we asked about why the car was pulling, he said they did not even check it.

So we dropped it off, at 1PM come back at 4PM and they did nothing. We even gave them a sheet of other Service managers to call if they had issues. Also we put what WDS software they needed to get the patch and still they did nothing.

Frustrating, I blame Mazda for not putting out a TSB for this.
A complete re-flash should qualify, obviously, they don't want to make this a major issue, or have every MSP owner coming in for it because they don't want to be billed for over 10,000 hours of labor.

TSB = Techincal Service Bulletin

Dezoris, I feel ya man. I tried to schedule an appointment for the flash this morning and was denied!!! I told the service manager that another Speed had had the flash done at his dealer, he said that this was correct but that they would be doing no more updates until a TSB was issued. He sayed that the reason that no TSB has been issued yet is that the EPA must approve all factory ECU modifications. He sayed check back in two weeks. Ah well, I'm in no hurry for the ecu burn, so no problem. Location: Capital Mazda in Raleigh, NC Service manger: Ashley

I talked to service in CA, SC, and WI, all said that, even though, there is no TSB or recall, all MSPs are eligible, and that this mod is CARB exempt.

It's all lies so they don't have to do it, and more importantly they are more worried about not getting paid from mazda to do warranty work without a TSB. This is the issue not the EPA.

Ashley in the Milwaukee Wisconsin service department has all this info.

Paper work and phone calls are all they are avoiding.
Great service, but I still blame Mazda, this is straight up BS.

I believe reading from Chojin's post that they did EPA emission testing on the new flash. And why would they flash all the dealer lot cars and not the one already sold?

Find the next closest mazda dealership and ask them what you should do since they are being dicks. The one accross the border in illinois made a call to the st louis dealership and they called me back happier than ever to flash my car.

My car has about 300 miles on it and it pulls slightly to the left. :wtf: I must also take it in the for flash, hopefully they will not give me any trouble about it.

HA HA thats the point, they lied, they did not even know about the flash because their software to download the flash was not up to date.

I called several, most of them said they won't do anything until they can verify the information themselves.

One dealer said they called the tech line and the techline said they could not find any information on it, and not to perform any service on it.

I will find one who are smart enough to update their WDS software.

Make sure they give you an alignment printout before and after.

I know it's hard...but keep try with different dealers.
I wiill never go back to my dealer, because they are always giving me aftermarket illegal crap and warranty will not apply...
sick of dealing with them.
I actually had great service with mazda dealer in iowa city though.
they replaced my rear rotor, pad, caliper :) under warranty and without question.
I think it's all depends on who's the serveice manager is...

On the pulling issue..my car has 5k miles on it, and it tracked straight, no pulling. I had the tires rotated and it pulls to the left now.

Just to Mazda in Cary. The did the flash for DaKidd there. They should be ready to go if you want it done now. Let me know if you hear anything more on Capital because the "2 weeks" answer from a mazda dealership is the equivilent of "go screw yourself". That is the answer for everything and it never happens in 2 weeks.
