    TSBs etc?

I called the dealership today for the 1st time since buying my '03 from the original owner to check on TSBs etc. They said there was nothing for this car. Is that right? I'm a little surprised... what about the intake bolt deal? It runs liek a top and I have no concerns... just approaching the...

    Engine swap? A nice idea

Um, wouldn't that be 4 years? On topic - how about a 1.3L rotary. If anybody wants to try... I've got a '91... buy it and I'll throw in the whole car free. my experience has been that, as suggested, once you get a bigger/higher HP motor, a matching tranny is needed or the original will not live...

    Carbon Fiber Hatch

Def in NC - no specific requirement for a rear window. The truck in my sig passes like that every year. How else would a convertable pass? Ironically, also (in NC) no specific requirement for a FRONT windshield, hahaha. Yo DO have to have windshield wipers, though! Re: No window - this might...

    60,000 Mile Service

    How involved is it to.....

You might get lucky, and be able to get away with just replacing the padding undert he carpet. Chances are, that's what's really absorbed it. If you pull out the actual carpet and shampoo it, the smell will come out... just probably not the underpadding.

Higher revving = better gas mileage?

Funny you guys bring this up.... When I first got my P5 in Oct, MPGs were about 29. since then declined, last few tanks averaged 26.5-27. Like others here, I track every fillup, every mile, verymaticulously. Been bugging me, so been thinking about it a bit, and wondering about this average RPM...

How much should I sell for.

The problem you will face is that it is only worth teh xtra $$ to the right guy, a select crowd. Obviously it will never sell for what you have in it, but above that people will only pay extra for the add-ons they want in the first place. That really narrows down your market if you're trying to...

safe to ignore my CEL for now?

Keep in mind that the other downsside to just ignoring the light is that if something else fails and throw a new code, you won't know it 'cuase the ligbht is already on.

    To all HID Owners

I'm sorry, but if you think this engine bay is mall - try looking under a real compact car, or even worse, a van! I second mounting 'em to the frame.

TurfBurn, if you don't mind, what car/transmision is the gear out of?

safe to ignore my CEL for now?

^^ X2 on above. Hit an Advance Auto, AutoZone, mayeb even NAPA. They have the OBDII readerss, will plug it in and read the code for free. Once you know the code, then go from there. Maybe even post back here and be sure. I personally would not advise letting it go too long w/o checking first...

    Brake Problem I Think

if all 4 wheels are ticking, then teh chances of it being a wheel-centered problem are zilch. My money is on a mater-cylinder related issue. I know this sounds odd, but hear me out. Typically there's an air-blowoff valve in the MC, it's supposed to releave pressure that builds up as you...

Anybody know if all the vehicles pre-wired for this option?

    timing belt change

Also, this is a non-interference engine, meaning in a worst-case scenerio the valves and pistons will never collide. So even if it were to break, nothing should get bent/broken.... you'll just be stranded. However, just as a related curiosity does anybody know what controls the electronic...

Need longer crank time on China remote starter

You'd probably be better off finding out why the crank time is so long. If you continually crank it for long times before starting, it will kill your starter. Is the new battery the same CCAs as OE (at least)? Check the primary lead/ground wires also.

Are Weighted Shift Knobs Worth The Money?

I like the idea of just saving $10-15 a month and jus get it i na few months. maybe an end-of semester treat. College life is expensive! That $80 will buy a textbook. Or, a couple of good dates after a long week, both more important investments right now IMHO.

    may i have your opinion

In the event you are one of these guys concerne about weiht, keep in mind that stainless steel is heavy w/o affecting performance. However, it sure looks nicer, especially 50k later. Although I guess in this car a cat-back still isn't that long. I'm curious, do all the cat-backs have that crazy...

Am I The Only One That Thinks The P5 Is Kinda Quick?

I agree that it "feels" fast, even if it technically isn't. I can see how this might be even more so as a passenger. I thin kalot of it has to do with the light/thin body, general noiseo n the interior and tight handling. By sounding so loud (you can really hear the engine in this car, even...

    Immediate Help Appreciated

I'd be very suprised if you couldn't get the gasket from Advance, Autozone, Napa, Pep Boys... any of those guys. Is the valve cover shape in the P5 different from other cars using the FE motor?

    Rear Licence Plate "FIX"

In NC, teh stickers they give you to put on it are made of that crazy no-peal break-away material, I can only assume this is so people can't steal 'em. So i have to take the plate off and spend a good 5 minutes working on it to get that sucker off. I find thsi is also a good time to wash the...
