Don't want to sound stupid, but is it possible to remove the roof rack and if so, what's the best way? Thanks for you help

its pretty easy, if you take a look at it, its not too bad to figure out. just a couple screws to remove, then the panels need to be pryed off. that was kind of hard for me, but just work it for a bit and they will come off.

Did you mean this...

csteele, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

if you are just talking about removing the cross bars...YES....and there are instructions on how to do so in your manual.

yeah, its actually fairly simple to figure it out! just take your time, and see how everything fits together and you've got it!

thanks for the help folks..............Where I got confused was when I got it off, I didn't know what was supposed to go back in place because they forgot to give me the attachments, so I went where I bought it and got everything straight.

someone should write up a quick how to and stick it in the HOW TO section... not that it seams that dificult to do, i just think it would be easier for people to find if it was in there....

actually what they need to do is look in their manuals...with the exception of the early 2002's....its in there.

i also have an early 2002, i asked the guy at the dealership about it though before i even knew i was gonna buy the car. i still have yet to get the thigns off because i tried months ago and couldn't get the nuts to loosen at all... haven't tried since, but i'm going to this weekend

after taking off the rack completely, how did you patch up the bolt holes? i got the cross bars off but i still have the black rails on. i want them off but i don't want holes in my roof.

this is an old thread but nobody answered jophus14's last question, how do you remove the whole roofrack without leaving holes in your roof? did you go to a body shop? is there a low cost way to do it yourself? any ideas? thx

I am up in Canada and the roof racks you guys in the states are not available up here. Is anyone interested in selling a rack and if so how much do they go for??? Our roof racks are really tall and ugly... If anyone is interested in selling or can pass me on some information on pricing down there, email me at kjpaterson@sympatico.ca.

Thanks
