Here are some pics of the two pieces I bought from amie. I am really happy with my purcase, and the quality of these pieces is excellent! The only thing that is just ok, is the fitment of the shift plate around the shifter, since it looks like it was made for a manual, which is lsightly different (see the 3rd pic, the piece just ends up going over some of the rubber around the 2003.5 auto/tip shifter), but it still fis well there and looks great (I did put a little extra double sided tape to make it hold better), but don't get me wrong, it's still a fantastic product and I definetily would buy another if I had another protege 5 etc... Anyways, enjoy! I think I'm going to be ordering the glovebox piece next! I do like the way my interior looks with just these 2 pieces from the 5 piece cf kit though, so I may keep the interior like this!

Thanks Amie!!!!

awweesoommeeee... how much did u pay for it? and where..

looks nice! but a suggestion dude.

remove the stock platic part around the shift plate (the part containing the cup holders). u have to pry at it/pull at it, but itll come loose. after u take that off, remove the black trim around the shift plate. then maybe, put the cf piece on the plastic part (still removed) then put the black trim on so it covers part of the cf piece, then slap everything back on. idk if thatll work? just a suggestion, hope it made sense lol peace - chris

I got it from dg motorsports. I e-mail amie, and she was able to give me a discount from the prices at dgmotorsports.com. I'm now debating whether I want to get the glovebox piece or not.....decisions decisions....I can get it for a really good price used (in new condition) from someone, but I'm still unsure if I want to just stick with this amount of cf are get a little more....Opinions?

L8r - I may do that, but to be honest I'm alittle nervous trying to take that pice off. What is holding it on? Is it like the door sills where I just pull? If so, where should I pull from? I definetily dont want to end up breaking that piece! I'm sure this would look nice though if I took that piece off and put this under the srubber around the shifter, that would also hold this piece on better!

Are there any how to's on how to remove that piece around the shifter, with pictures?

Thanks!

um, yah its just like removing the door sills, just gotta find the "sweet spot" and pull. u gotta give some force, but only clips hold it on. gl it u decide to do it.

also, get the glove box part, itll look nice, peace - chris

I'll try it tomorrow afternoon. Can someone please post pics of what the piece looks like taken out, and draw where I should pull from? I really hate doing these kinds of things without seeing pics...it's be nice to know where the clips are.

Thanks!

To be honest, I dont really like the tradio surround, I like more contrast in the interior, especially around the radio. I'm ordering the glovebox piece soon, and I think eventually I'll be ordering the new product dg is making for the cf interior, which is two cf pieces that cover only the fake cf on the radio trim. I think they're only like $40 from dg too, great deal!

Do what I did. I have the whole kit from DGM. I took the radio surround and had it painted to match the original piece. I too liked the contrast. I even had my pillar trim painted the same color as the window control surrounds and the radio surround. Thinking of even having the headliner dyed black (mazda doesn't make a black one). But I like the fact now that I don't have any fake carbon fiber showing in or on the car now. Just need to get the door sills and wide body kit and I'll have just about every carbon fiber piece that DGM makes. Right now the only CF on the car that's not DGM is the hood which is a WW Evo and the Roof.

Yeah ! I got the same 2 pieces. My shift plate fit perfect, however I did add a little more 3M tape to it. Some industrial stuff i had at work. I oredred the arm rest cover and should have it soon. How does it go on ? and hows the fit and finish ?

Yeah, well there's no point in spending $80 or so to buy the whole cf radio faceplate then spend money to paint the inside silver if you can get the two new cf coversfor the fake part of the original trim piece for $40!

The glovebox piece I'm most impressed with. It fits like a glove over the original piece and is very well snug. It looks absolutely perfect. I'm going to go to home depot l;ater today and get some extra double sided tape for the shifterplate piece, and do that thing described earlier in the thread, so the rubber is on top of the shift plate. I think it shoudl fit perfectly once I do this, since the only reason the current fit isn't perfect is that the rubber is pushing the cf piece up in a few places since I have an auto.

Hadn't seen the cf covers for just the fake parts on the sides. I got my interior set before DGM started offering the individual pieces.

I know you didn't say the cf covers for the fake part were from DGM but hit their website and didn't see them...where'd you find the cf covers? Would like to check them out.

Yeah, dgm just finished the mold the other day, I'm not sure if anyone even has them yet. E-mail or pm amie about them, they're a fantastic deal!

Thank you to everyone who helped me on this, I took that piece out today and put the cf shifter plate over it and then the black thing back on and reinstalled the piece, and it looks amazing! Absolutely perfect! I'll have pics later...but I'm so happy right now! Anybody considering this stuff should definetily go ahead and purchase these interior pieces! The quality and fitment is just amazing! I'm so happy with the way my nterior looks right now, and I cant wait to get the glovebox piece and maybe the new cf inserts for the radio faceplate.

Thanks!
