What did you pay for your CX-5?

That doesn't make sense. I can add/remove cars from my policy at any time. I have Progressive.

I have State Farm. The lady who is assigned to us at this office has been working there 40 years, so I assume (hope) she knows what she’s doing. I pay every six months on the car insurance. When this renews I will be curious to see the rate. If it doesn’t drop drastically, I will expect some investigation/answers.

Currently searching for a new Cx-5 as my 14 is on its way out, and looking at a 2025 Mazda Cx-5 S Select in Rhodium White.

Anyone in the North East/Rhode Island area care to share what kind of deal(s) you were able to get on their 25 CX-5 S Select?

At the moment i am trying to negotiate about $31,200 USD out the door, where MSRP is currently $32,682.00, but not sure if i am being too aggressive or not enough.

Initial offers i have gotten back so far are $31,838 (IRA Mazda) $32,230 (Flood Mazda), and $32,280 (Tasca Mazda).

Base MSRP: $30,380.00
Dest Fee: $1,495.00
Rhodium White Metallic: $595
Roadside Assistance Kit: $90
Cargo Mat $125
= Total: $32,685.00

-5% off MSRP = $31,050.75
OR
- 6% off MSRP = $30,723.90

-------------------------------
- $2000 customer cash
- $500 Mazda Loyalty credit
+ $399 RI Doc Fee
+$20 Title Fee
+200 Registration transfer Fee (supposedly they will refund the difference in what was used)
+ 7% RI sales tax

Total OTD Offer = ~$30,818.57 to 31,168.30

We should be able to get you under $30k OTD, plus our $499 Service Fee (discounted rate for Mazdas247 Members). DM me if you are interested in arranging something, we should have a Rhodium White available.

Hi. First post here. Didn't know about the buying service Ninja Matt offers as I already bought the car. Was forced into buying a new car because my 2019 Toyota C-HR LE with 185,000 miles was rear ended and Progressive (the at fault's insurance company) declared the car a total loss. Not sure if I got the best deal out there. I settled on a 2025 CX-5 S Select in Platinum Quartz Metallic. Here are the numbers:

Base MSRP: $30,380
Destination: $1,495
Cargo Mat: $125
Retractable Cargo Cover: $250
Front/Rear Splash Guards: $200
Wheel Locks: $75

Total MSRP: $32525

Negotiated discount: $2800

Net Price: $29,725

Additional accessories I wanted. Auto Dimming rear view mirror with Homelink, all weather floor mats, all weather cargo tray, and trailer hitch: $1275

Rebate: $2000
Doc fee: $799
Title fee: $200
Tags: $60
Tire recycling fee: $4
Electronic titling fee: $18.75
Sales tax 6%: $2066.94

Total out the door: $32,148.69

Sorry to hear about your accident and hope everyone is okay.

The $2,800 true discount (excluding rebates) on a Select trim is a solid deal, at 8.6% off MSRP. I would be happy with that deal. Great job!

We purchased a 2025 CX-5 2.5 S Preferred in Platinum Quartz Metallic with Black Leather last Friday (Jan 2 2026). Only accessories were wheel locks ($75) and the cargo net ($60). MSRP including the $1495 destination charge is $33,600. We paid $29,041 or just over 12.9% off. No trade-in; no dealer financing.
  • dealer discount $819
  • customer cash $2000
  • loyalty reward $500
  • mastermind incentive $1000
FWIW, I'd never heard of the mastermind incentive before. Apparently it is from the factory but literally targeted at individuals for reasons generally unknown the the dealer. They seemed to think it was like an enhanced loyalty bonus. Anyway. we weren't actually going to pull the trigger that day but they really wanted to print out actual numbers on the car we had been looking at before we left. So we said sure, we can wait a couple more minutes. Then they came back with the extra $1000 which made the deal better than what we were actually hoping for. <shrug> We have a new car! :-)

Thank you for asking Matt. Yes, we're fine except I was achy for a few days after. Imagine getting slammed pretty hard in that little C-HR at a full stop by a BMW X5.

Thanks for reviewing my numbers and letting me know I did a decent job in getting a solid deal. I haven't had to haggle on a vehicle for a while as all of my vehicles have been paid off for some time. This whole experience reminded me of how much I hate the process. If I ever have to go through this again, I'd definitely talk to you about using your services.

So I've never heard of a Mastermind incentive, however incentives for Mazda are regionally set, so I'm going to guess either you are outside of the East Coast or Southeast market where I am most familiar, or it wasn't an OEM rebate. For example, Vehicles for Change is a Northeast specific rebate typically.

Now, my guess is its coming from Automotive Mastermind, a popular equity mining tool dealers use (fun fact, my first GM that hired me into the industry over a decade ago used to be their national VP of Sales) and perhaps is a partnership program with Mazda in some regions. If you share which state you are in I may be able to get more info on it.
