2001 Mazda MP3, MSP Turbo Engine Development Prototype

Thank you for excepting me. I believe to have a very unique car in my possession.
I own a 2001 Mazda Protege MP3. This car seems to have spent time at Allen Park Test Laboratory in Michigan, more recently known as Ford EMDO (Engine Manufacturing Development Operations), a prototype-only facility used for the production of engine prototypes for Ford, Jaguar, and Mazda. My MP3 has what appears to be, a 2003 Mazdaspeed Turbo engine under the hood. Therefore I believe this car was is a one-off and part of the company's Mazdaspeed Protege production development. I am wondering if anybody knows the history behind this car or about such a project. Please see photos attached.

The person I bought the car from and the highly unusual key chain tag. If keys are found return to address, and postage paid for by Ford Motor Company

Welcome and thanks for the heads up via DM @Frederick H...Good to see you posted about this already, very interesting find and story...Looking forward to more details if they surface and updates!

Did you check out what the VIN says? did you call Mazda and find out what your MP3 production # is?

No. I was going to do that next.
I just felt that there are quite a few knowledgeable people on mazdas247, hoping someone might have a story.
Unfortunately some of the OG members are gone...Trying to get info for a car that old is hard these days.
