Post number 318 - this is my Sky Blue CX-5 with black plastidip on the wheels and a light coating of the glossifier on top. I loved the way it looked, but went with black aftermarket rims several months after those photos. No more taking the wheels off for a couple hours! Plus more tire options. The coolest attribute of the PlastiDip is that you can try several color options for little money and time. My car is basically a black-and-blue mobile, but I just plastidipped the "CX-5 AWD" logo bright orange - it actually looks awesome against the sky blue - I'll try to post some picks.
Gunmetal with metallizer topcoat might look better than the flat color pictured. However, most folks don't like wheels matching the car's paint. If anthracite doesn't look good enough on its own, it could be gone over later with glossifier and/or metallizer.
ha ha cool, someone reposted the pics. The gunmetal plasti-dip came out lighter than I expected...however it was an exact match as the cap (my fault). With my darker paint job, I wanted it a darker grey. Yes coulda used the glossifier, but this was only a temporary thing just to mess around over the weekend. The temp job turned out to be a few months now and still looks good. For about $7 a can, cant go wrong!
