Let's Talk Side Sill Extensions...

For some strange reason, I originally thought the side sill extensions came with the USA Mazda 2 Touring model... Didnt really notice they weren't on there until after a week of owning my 2! (In all fairness, I did purchase a black car at night! (doh) )

So since then, I have been debating getting the mudflaps or spending the moola on some side sill extensions... While I know the mudflaps would be nice, practical, and a lot less expensive, the side sills add such a nice, sporty look..

Has anyone purchased the side sills and had them painted/installed?
If so, how much did it cost to get them painted?
Did you install them yourself? If so, how difficult was it?

While I have seen 2's with and without side sills, I'd love to see before/after pics of them on the same car; especially if its black!

I'm on the same boat. I'm looking for some nice looking side sills. I also have the black Mazda 2 touring. But I want to see what the Mazda 2 looks like with all the mud flaps on it, front and back. Pluss I want to also see what some nice side sills would look like painted and installed on a Mazda 2 touring hopefully black as well.... Thanks

Hey guys, well I have the mudflaps. The rear looks a lot beefier, I don't trust the colour matching in my country thats why I have the flaps.

You can purchase the side sills as a option for the Mazda 2, just check with your local dealer. Also, mud flaps "aren't compatible" with the side sills installed. There ARE ways around this though.

i do think the sills are great also the flaps...but with the sills it leaves the front looking to high, it (this is just imo) needs a lip or something to even out the front

I frankly think it's ridiculous that the US Touring version does not included the side sills. Especially knowing that they come with them in other countries. It is also beyond ridiculous that when you do buy the US side sills from Mazda they don't come already painted to match your car!!

Looks much better with the side skirts. Lucky you that it came with your car.

Mazda felt sorry for you guys since you had to live in canada so they gave you guys the side sills...they didnt give them to the u.s. as we all defaulted on our debt and we couldnt afford it ;P

How much are the side sills from the dealer? As far as the US getting better stuff than Canada, UM NO. The US always takes the longest to get a foreign car and once we do (If we do that is) its always the crap version or has less options.

anyone know how much side sills are? im prolly gonna have to call the dealership when i have time. but im thinking of getting black sills on my white 2. since i got black wheels/badges

I still think the 3d carbon set is the best for our M2.
You can contact them to ask them for piece by piece pricing rather than the set if you like.

Although might be cheaper through dealer for OEM sills.... maybe....
