What have you done to your P5 today?

Got what are going to be my puddle lights in the mail.

Short of using a pin switch, is there a circuit I can tap into that is only closed when each individual door is opened? Basically, when I open the driver door, only the driver door LED strip lights up, etc.

Puddle lamps were one of my favorite mods I ever did on the P5...I think Cres now has one of my mirrors with them installed on it...as for the cage...COLOR MATCH...

I'm doing mine on the bottom of the doors rather than the mirrors. Hoping it will turn out ok. How did you wire them up?

I guess what I'm doing would be more like courtesy lights. I want the ground to light up under the door for the person getting in/out of that particular seat.

Damn, that's a pretty swanky idea.

I wouldn't be surprised if all of those door switches are wired in parallel (ie. when one door's open, the car has no idea which one). You can probably get around this by installing diodes on each switches' return wire, then you wire your lights in right before the diode. That would, for example, prevent the driver-side light from coming on when the passenger door is open.

That is a pretty cool idea, if you pull it off be sure to post up pics and a write-up.

Drove her to Home Depot to pick up some filters and walking back I noticed something hanging in the rear. Turns out it is a hose...doesn't look cut but rather that it simply came undone. Jacked the car up when I got home and couldn't find anywhere for it to connect. Any ideas?

And if that weren't enough when we pulled out of the parking lot and onto the main road I heard a rather loud clunk from the rear followed by louder than normal clunking coming from the rear over bumps. Then when I made the right turn onto my street I heard a CLUNK and said WTF. Turns out the effin horseshoe bracket for the Progress bar snapped and was hanging and the bar was banging like crazy. :( Was going to take it off anyway as I found out last Friday that I need new heim joints for the AWR links. Turns out the bolts were tight enough but two of the heims (of course one on each side) are shot and were causing the clunking. Time to source a new bracket.

Looking up at the bracket and subframe

If that hose was part of the EVAP circuit you'd probably have a CEL (or you'll have one soon). I suspect the other end of that hose is connected to the gas tank pressure sensor. That sensor has two hoses, one that goes to the gas tank and another that's open to the atmosphere, I suspect the hose in the picture is the latter.

No CEL on the way home....let's see what happens when I turn the key tomorrow morning. Thanks and I'll have to get the ass end in the air again tomorrow night when it's not dark to see if I can trace the line.

Progress sells replacement brackets/bushings for $24.80. Guess what I'll be buying tomorrow....if the decision is made to keep her.

Damn, I might actually use that idea. Thats been my biggest hiccup. If my $1 eBay strips are anywhere similar to the Oznium strips, I'd be looking at a 0.05 amp draw per strip. I figure thats low enough that if I can just tap into the door switch wire for power, no? I figure it would have a 12v positive. Plus it would save me having to run another power wire through each molex connector in each door... I forgot to run an extra :(

Jeff, I'm pretty sure I remember seeing that hose hanging out like that on my P5 and Kevins Protege. I think it's a fuel evap hose. No biggie.

As for the Progress bracket, one of mine snapped just like that about a year after I installed my bar. I emailed Progress and they sent me a new bracket the same day free of charge. Just make sure when you tighten them you go little by little on each bolt, like tightening a head to the block. So the pressure is evenly distrubted. Then you'll be golden. I haven't had any problems with mine for the last 2 years.

Thanks and I'll check it out later and if that is the case I'll just have to tuck it back up in somewhere.

Wow....sux yours broke too but good to know I'm not alone. :) I'll give them a call later to see. I'm the second owner so they may not honor any kind of warranty? Gotcha on the tightening but when Jasen and I did it we did one side at a time thanks to the PITA nut that was broken off and I had to hold inside the subframe. This time around I'll do a little here and a little there.

Car goes into the shop. Someone stabbed my brake lines. Plugged it and managed to get to work. Engine tap going to get fixed as well. Good thing all I need to buy are calipers and I'm good to go

That's WACK! Haters! Glad you are getting everything fixed.

A/C is needing a recharge on Callie's

Sitting idling for any amount of time and it gets is not as cool as it should be

Jeff, my bracket broke like yours did because I basically had a curb I had to drive over to get into my parking lot of my old apartment and it was so high (my car isn't even that low) I used to go in at an angle so that put the RSB at a wonky angle and under a lot of stress. So it was mostly because of that angle. How did yours snap? I heard my RSB pop when I went over the curb.
