Front bumper spoiler, yey or ney?!

Recently, I was driving home and clipped a damn possum. I like to say I was helping him with his acting career. Needless to say, he cracked my front spoiler. So after talking to my friends over at the body shop, I work for a dealership, they searched for one for me. Well looks like there is only one OEM left in the country, from what Mazda told them. I figured I'd just get an after market bumper and repair this one later on and keep for stock.

After searching the net, I found this "Extreme Dimensions" who uses "duraflex" kits. I'm just wondering if anyone in MSP land has used one or any other aftermarket body kit. I'm really only looking to replace the front bumper, not a whole dress kit. If so, what route did you take? The one I'm really interested in is the "B-2 Front Bumper ". I'm not sure how it would look with the rest of the car having the stock body kit though. Can anyone help me make this an easier decision? I'm not planning on a front inter-cooler, or at least for quite a while.

Any ideas? I'll try to take a picture during lunch. I'd like a little more custom look, maybe just shave it down a little? I don't know what route to take here. Just can stand how the molding looks when the adhesive pops out and the crack is pretty big.

thats what i got... its not painted yet though and i have the rest of the body kit with it. it is a little bit lower than the stock side skirts but i don't think it would be bad. also if you just cracked your lip you can get a dg lip

Where would I find said DG Lip?

I'm not sure how the bottom stock spoiler is supposed to come off. I noticed the original owner had taken out some of the screws already, but not sure how the rest of it comes off.

I was thinking about having some of it shaved off, but haven't seen a MSP with just the stock front bumper with out bottom spoiler.

Never mind, I found it off google. HAHA! The way I'm seeing it, would the stock lower spoiler be taken off and then just add the DG Lip in its place?

I'd love to get a complete bumper, but I'd want it to flow front to rear. I don't have the money to replace the whole kit and I wouldn't want the front to be mis-matched.

Was able to get a pic during lunch. One of my friends at the body shop said he could try to repair it and paint. The way they pop out though, I'm wondering if I should just have them shaved into the bumper cover or mod it while it's off.2011-04-19_13-19-40_161.webp

save your MSP and never buy one!!! you can get a lip-lip for the 03.5 lip that attaches on the bottom of it if you want a diff look...

be prepared.. you'll get hammered on this site if you get a body kit. but i personally think it looks good! i have it on my msp

That's what I was thinking. I don't know if anyone has this one, http://www.duraflexbodykits.com/20012003-mazda-protege-body-duraflex-p-12248.html , and I've tried searching to see if anyone did and I can't really tell.

yeah man... looks like garbage. if you had a crappy LX or other 3rd gen protege, i'd say go for it! but doing that to an MSP is a disgrace... makes me sick.

this is the lip-lip i was talking about: (which i actually just purchased and is on the way)

+1 the best thing mazda did when designing the MSP was the styling. Your lip could be fixed easily!

True, I was looking at any option for a fix. I like that lip too, where you find it? I'm sure I could always just replace the factory one with just the lip. I guess I'll have to take it off for sure and see what they can do for me. Then I'll really be able to decide what to do. I was thinking of having him shave the lower spoiler into the lip. I think it'd look cleaner. I love the body style, just hate all the seams. Where the lip meets the bumper.
