Not sure if this is the correct location. Well anyway. My dad gets his 3rd Gen RX-7 R1 maintained at Tripoint Engineering. For being such a faithful and longtimt customer the owner gave my dad two tickets to see the races at Laguna Seca on Sept 6-7. They raced their Mazda Protege. I have seen this thing at the shop since it was first worked on. Now im not to sure about its origins because it was made before the MP3. Perhaps they changed in the past few years I dont know. But at the race they had a mazda speed bumper. This thing is so badassed!!! It is 240 Hp NA!!! no turbos at all. There were two. One of the drivers was not as skilled and although she pole positioned at 2nd place she ended up in 4 or 5 cant remember. However the other driver was in First place the entire race. Beating racing BMW 3 series, IS300, Mugen RSX from Kings Motor Sports, racing Integras and a Civic Hatch. tells ya something about tripoint and the driver.

yes Im carpooling with kidkorrupt. My dad will be bringing his RX-7. He's getting his bew vented hood painted and fitted for Seven Stock. Hopefully he wil have time to get the sparco hood pins on in time that I bought for him. Look for his car. It iwll be the only RX-7 with "Sprit R" badges. Oh and the vanity plate is "EfiniR3" it is black

wait till you see his dad's minty clean blak 2rd gen. a beautiful, beautiful car

I think that anyone that is in Pro racing is obviously skilled. Shauna has proven herself more than capable and consistent. I autocrossed with her about seven years ago when she won a National Championship. She does not have as much seat time as many of the other drivers, so I think she is very skilled. Also, what do you mean, pole positioned at 2nd place? Do you mean she qualified in second place? There is only one pole position.

Im not that familiar with the terms. But here goes. Ok when they pole position right for the placement of the blocks prior to the real race Shauna was in the second position. Jeff Altenburg was in the first position so during the warm up lap when they all drive around the course at the same time before the first official race lap Altenburg was first and Shauna Marinus was second. But at the end of the race Marinus was un able to maintain her position as second place. Her trial time was good for positioning at the start as second place but during the race she moved down the line.

End of the race? =) She basically got pushed back on the second turn to 6th after she got hit. It could be possible that she was also being not as aggressive due to the fact that she was still on probation. I believe her fastest lap was on Lap 19.

Solscud007- Good to see that you had a good time at the track. My name is Jeff and I own a MSP. You should come down to Tri-Point and say hi.
