Fresh Tranny Fluid!

(huh) Are you local; Orlando local that is?
Sure, no problem...

I'm in Houston though right now... I don't get back till the end of the month...

edited: never mind, read the posts above... yeah, I live near Waterford. I go to the LA Fitness there and most of my shopping.

LOL, yeah no problem, I am actually in the casselberry, area. Whenever you have a free moment I would appreciate that look at your set up if you care to.

roger that, did you happen to install the mount yourself? was it very difficult?

Yep, it was really easy. Took like 10 minutes and thats including setting up the jacks. It was only two bolts, remove stocker, install new mount, apply thread lock to bolts, and torque according to service manual.
Done...

Then drive for about 1K miles or so to break it in, since FL is all about highways and not much stop and go... (lol2)

that would be great if you were able to do that for me! Just let me know whenever you have a free moment.

$50 for the work at the dealer and $30 for 3 quarts of redline mt-90 sythetic transmission oil, total cost $80. Results Priceless.

That is just a drain though, its PITA the drop the transmission pan and clean out the gunk in the bottom. I doubt thats needed at the early intervals talked about here though.

I dropped the pan on my previous car to clean it out and after that ordeal I told myself I'd never do it again. But, I'll probably end up doing it because I don't want to pay the dealer to.

Huh? MS3 is a manual - no pan. Just drain and refill.

Wil you need a sump/pump to get it back up into the tranny? MY tremec T5 on my old cobra's fill hole was low and had no clearance to pour a bottle...i had use a pump to get it back in...any advice would be great...im hitting 18k tomorrow and should prob change mine out to the the MT-90 as well...anyone got a link for that stuff...the correct one?

You need something, there isn't clearance for a bottle. I used a funnel and a piece of tubing to fill from above. A pump will work too.

OK so here is the question for the day! I am wanting to get rid of any unnecessary 3 gear grindage. So a tranny flush and some fresh Mt-90 seem to be the first step in doing so. My question is what type of engine stiffeninig mount should I go with? I like to stay as dealer friendly as possible and since I do not have tools handy I need something less intrusive and not difficult to install.

Should I go with the Corksport Inserts or the TRZ complete replacement?

I am a bit wary of the TRZ mount due to the over stiffening issue another member had experienced during the sebring event.

Any ideas everyone?

Just to clarify this is a manual. It does not need a flush it needs a drain and a fill just like your engine oil. There are two plugs one lower one for draining and a higher one for filling. It is a very easy thing to do on your own. If you have the tools to change your own engine oil then you have most of the things needed to drain your tranny oil. You will need a funnel and some tubing that fits the funnel like the guy above said.

shoot over to your local parts store . they should have a tool that you can actually thread to the fluid container. and they should be cheap. just ask for it. much easier, just be aware of fill levels. On the Dodge I think it was like 3/16ths below fill plug. how do you measure that? I could barely get my pinky in at some crazy angle. You can do it for sure.

I have the inserts and they helped with the 3rd gear mis-shifts. I didn't go with a stiffer mount because I didn't want the vibes. I haven't switched to mt-90, although after this thread I probably will.

Was the installation of the inserts difficult? Did you see a very noticable difference in your shifts? I am a little wary of the vibrations from the TRZ mount so the inserts seem to be the best segway for me.

Do you happen to know if there is an installation write up on the Corksport mounts?

I definitely noticed a change for the better. The inserts are the same install as the full replacement of the other mounts. It's super easy, remove a few bolts put the inserts in then put the bolts back. There may be a write up in the "How To" but I'm not sure.
