Went to the track last night with a few buds. The conditions were about as bad as you can get. 25*C, 85% humidity, and get this, a 5,900' Density Altitude! My friend's Whipple charged Cobra on slicks normally puts down 11.8's but he could barely break 12.5's last night. Best I could do was 14.2 on 16psi. I was running my "slicks" (bald street tires on a second set of rims, inflated to 16psi) Everyone was running bad, so I wasn't that dissapointed. Check out my 60' times compared to the trap speed. If I could get the damn car to hook up, I'd be mid 13's on a good day. I tried everything I could. Started at 10psi, then in 3rd gear hit 16, and still not. Anyways, the Cobalt SC I was running had a stage 2 with smaler pulley and tune (stage 3, but not the GM stage 3) and hoosier slicks. On the final run, I ran 20psi, but had my overbosot fuel cut set to 18 (dumbass) so I hit fuel cut halfway down the track, and then on 18psi anyway my clutch packed it in. Driving home if I gave it more than half throttle it slipped, so now I've got to change that out... Anyways:
Run 1: bad R/T and launch says it all
Run 2: Missed 2nd gear (GRIND!!!)
Run 3: Not bad, still couldn't hook up
Run 4: Best of the night, still fighting for traction. Left it at 16psi for the whole run.
Run 5: Fuel cut, and clutch blew out. Still kept the time as good as I could.
