mysterious sensor

[M.S.C - M.S.P]

im the second owner of my car and other than a neon kit my MSP is bone stock. well after uninstalling the neons i can across this sensor zip tied under the steering wheel column. i followed the wires connecting to it but they end up being tied with a thousand other wires with electrical tape. heres a pic, anyone know what this is?

i thought so but wasnt expecting it to be tied down like that, im getting a new alarm tomarrow installed though
