My left (pass.) rear caliper is not on the rotor tightly and after I had my uncle look at it, he says the "bushing and pin" need to be replaced. Simply stated, the caliper clangs when I'm driving. I'm going to order a replacement if available but can you guys help me out determing the proper name for the part? I'd like to be as descriptive as possible when figuring out which part I need. I attached a picture. Sorry it's so tight but I only had so much space to work with. I tried to point to it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

No, that's not creepy at all. ;)

As Korey stated, they're called the slide pins. You might want to dissassemble the caliper from the bracket and apply a bit of grease to the pin before you replace the caliper. That's solved my clunking/clanging problem on my last car.

That will fix the problem,

In the future, that part should not get painted, (Rubber Acordion Seal)

At least I'm female so the whole "nice hands" comment isn't too creepy...right? haha

Thanks again. I'll try greasing the pins like you said.

I wonder if adjusting the caliper piston so it is a little tighter would help also.

That is a good point. Using the adjustment screw on the back of the caliper (for rear brakes), the piston should be adjusted so that the pad makes contact with the rotor, then backed off 1/3 of a turn.

I thought of that, but my uncle didn't seem to think that was the problem. I'll get him to check everything, though. It can't hurt.
