Here is the ad:

[FONT=Arial,]ok...here's whats for sale.please read all!!. 91 miata, with 107k miles on chassis, body needs light work & paint(NEVER CRASHED--CLEAN TITLE--just old), BUT already installed is a 94 1.8L w/ 96k on it..AND a 99head!!! PS & AC retained, new act clutch/fidanza flywheel installed..also included but not installed is pwr rad, extra eng(all parts to return to stock if u want to), and many many more parts!!!! Car needs new AFM to get it running($35-or less).Lots of new parts inc. inj., plugs, ALL hoses, etc, etc...this was a project car that I bought 8mos ago and invested over 4k but can no longer have due to a little one on the way!! Just want to give it to someone who will have fun w/ it!! MAKE ME AN OFFER, I need to sell it or sleep in it per the wife!!!!-PS-car is in Miami!!!

I offered him $2000 for everything... And he said yes! (shocked)

I am paying off one of my buddies with a truck to tow the b**** back to Orlando. But first, I want to know, what do you guys think? Please reply if you have ANYTHING to say. I respect you input.

Update: I am telling him I'll pay for a MAF is he puts it on so I can drive back to Orlando.
 
If worst comes to worst, I'll grab a $25 MAF from the junkyard and send it to you (though you'll have to wait 2 weeks, heh). That is a great deal for the car.
 
Well, s***. He wants it gone by Friday and I don't think I can get it towed by then.

Maybe some other time. (SIGH)

This is what he said about it, by the way:

"According to everyone thats seen it & the research I've done, the car needs these exact items to get started and running properly...AFM (not MAP--AFM is a simple electrical connection that sits on top of the intake box), thermostat, 1 stock size tire (or can use the spare), and a jump start since its been sitting so long."
 
How much will it cost to get it towed? Any members in MIA that will let you park it at their house for a week until you can tow it?
 
Changed my mind about the whole thing, there's other running Miatas for the same price, but with stock engine. I was really interested in it, but somethings turned me away from it in the end. He was cutting me a super deal on it, but I HATE red cars first of all, and I really want to start with a fresh running Miata. The only thing I could do is let someone in Miami take it and I'd give them the motor and radiator and s*** to fix it and get it running. I already called off the deal though, the guy was kinda pissed cause it went right down to the wire.

I found a running white with tan interior for about the same price, and a running blue for $2000 even too.

Bascially he wanted me to send him money sight unseen for it and I told him I wouldn't do that and he got really upset.
 
If this car was white or black I'd be a lot more interested in it, but I think I soured the deal anyway.

They'd have to take the engine, plus car to their house and all that too.
 
Money sight unseen.... I don't like the sound of that.

I'm with you Pluto, there were a few reds out there for me too in my budget... but I ruled them out. Don't like that color at all.... only if someone gave me a Ferrari would I drive a red car. I thought about driving one for a year and then getting a 500 dollar repaint.... but life's too short and I just feel embarrassed to be seen in a red car. Bad mojo for me. I love white... my paint job has some spots that look like dogs*** from 5 feet away, but from 10 feet everything looks great. Peering over the hood all looks REALLY good... that's all that counts anyway I guess. :)
 
Ok, new deal. Anyone in Miami: If they take this Miata I will pay them to get it running. I will make it worth your time. This needs to happen NOW though.
 
Wow.....just get the stuff and take care of it. Good deal to wimp out on because it needs 3 simple items. AFM pull off 1 electrical connecter and pop the new one in....done. Thermostat, really who cant do that now? And a spare.....? If those are whats keeping you from doing this.....thats weak, sorry man.

I've been seeing you rant and rave about getting a Miata for awhile now, dont be a puss cause of simple little items like that. G'd luck or get pwnd (poke)

I bought it already. I am going to Autozone tomorrow to see if I can get the thermostat and AFM. Think they will have one?
 
Gah, looks like I am going junkyarding this week. Oh well, fun project, I guess?

A thermostat should be no problem right? Can I use the AFM off a 1.6L too?
