links work if you copy & paste. i think this is the car i was talking about in another thread, totaly awesome, but hardly an rx-7 anymore.

That is just wrong. Where is your balanced weight distrobution now?!

Putting a corvette motor in a Miata is one thing, but what makes the RX-7 an RX is the Rotary engine.. without it, it's just some car (albeit a hot looking car).

Awesome. My buddies and I are going to be doing an LS1 FD swap very soon using lots of Hinson parts.

EDIT- blah blah blah... The weight distribution doesn't change all that much. The LS motors are all aluminum and the gearboxes weigh roughly the same. I don't have the numbers, but its not that big of a difference... +100lbs or so

You're replacing an all aluminum V8 with better HP and torque stock over a 13b that to get to simliar performance would require a huge turbo and a semi-truck sized intercooler hanging way infront of the front wheels. The V8 gives you better balance and weight distro.

Edit: The RX-7's amazing chasis is what makes it a good car, not the rotary engine.

I think the total addition of weight it MAYBE 50-100 pounds.... Aluminum block, go to a lighter exhaust system(less heat), no turbos or plumbing....

You think that is bad, this is wrong in so many ways.

You need to reevaluate your priorities.

:D

Heck no! Hot Girls always go b4 my ride. Would you like to have an ugly girl in a nice car, or would you rather to have a hot girl in a crappy car? Afterall, it's not just your car that needs tunning =p

Doing that to an RX-7 wouldn't be that bad...I mean..gas milage would improve a little bit(18 mpg w/ the LS2 vs 16/17 w/ stock 13B-REW),plus w/ the V8,it would eliminate turbo lag and the usual problems the comes w/ rotary engines.s***!It would also be a hell of a sleeper! And yeah, the RX-7 is very light, so 50-100 lbs is nothing.
