Rear hatch bottom carpet piece - P/N and Price Requeset

I'm looking to replace the large carpetted cutout for the rear hatch area. My dog has defiled this piece. I went to the dealership and the parts counter wasn't sure what I was talking about, and quoted me $250.

It's the piece over the spare tire well where a dog's would be sitting.

Thanks in advance. If you could also tell me a good dealership to order from I would appreciate it.

That's GOTTA be wrong! Mazda makes a carpeted mat for the back with the logo, and it's much cheaper than that! I have one, got it from the dealer, but don't remember what I paid.
Also, they make a rubberized plastic all weather tray custom fitted for the back also, I think I paid like $65 for it. That might be ideal for 'ole Rover! A little more doggy-proof! (drive)
I'd offer to sell it, but probably would cost more to package and ship than it would be worth.

OK... that's the original tire cover. What I'm talking about are Mazda aftermarket mats.
If the original piece is THAT expensive, and it's kinda trashed, I'd just get either of these and cover it. The carpeted one looks really nice and the rubberized one is very functional and durable. (drive)

I didn't know these were available. That carpeted one looks sweet (matches the floor mats up front)...but I must get myself one of those rubber ones...I'm just waiting for my g/f to ask "how much dirt do you think we could get into your car?" when we're at the landscaping shop...

Sweet. That's exactly what I'm talking about. Actually, if the rubber mat fits on top of the carpetted mat, that would be nice. Otherwise I'd buy the rubber one and put down a blanket for the pooch.

Got a link? Thanks for your help. I rarely come to this forum.

The rubber mat fits perfectly over the carpeted mat, and the fits are both outstanding.

I don't have a link, I bought them both at the original dealership where I got the car, in Bedford (Cleveland, Ohio). I'm guessing if you go to the local dealership parts counter, you can still get both. The prices were not outrageous either. (drive)

I so LOVE my little zoom zoom, I buy nothing but the best for her! (eekdance)

shipping charges are a b****, though... as long as the dealer you go to charges what is posted on mazda's site, you'll probably end up saving some money. $21 shipping to my place in michigan for the rubber mat...ouch!

no knocks to mazdastuff or anything... it's definitely an awesome site!

Well I got the carpeted cargo mat and it's just a piece of carpet. I need the cardboard/plastic backing that goes underneath as well.

I threw it out last week and now I have a piece of carpet sitting on top of my spare tire.

Help!

lol...you trashed it, eh? uh... part number BN5V-68-81X-02 :)

really, you could always make a custom backing out of some plywood or something... or see if you could get one from another forum member. I'm sure someone out there has this piece taking up space in there garage. try it out in the want to buy (wtb) section.

I was just quoted $226.20. Is this right? Anyone have a link for it online?

You may also want to try Nelson Mazda of Tennessee. I bought my floor mats that are 75 bucks at the dealer for 43 dollars shipped. What you are lookin for isnt listed but you could easily email them. he told me if i ever needed anything else to drop him a line. Great eBayer too.

The piece I want isn't listed? Then how am I supposed to get a new one? :dunno:

If someone can help me out I can host some entertainment for all. (2thumbs)

send a message via ebay/ask seller a question. Tell him what you want. He will then let you know the cost. He did it for me I think, 2.5 years ago.

Read my post one more time. i said it wasnt listed but you can email them.
