This thing works GREAT imo. been using it all day, got it from one of the free referral sites, cost me like 10 bucks total in trial products, if that.

what are you guys using as far as a cradle/charger?

i use the belkin cupholder thingy, charge it from the ciggy outlet and the ipod comes through the aux input on my kenwood.

last weekend, my wife plugged in her laptop and she watched a movie using the car speakers. ghetto in car entertainment fo lyfe!

so you have a cord running over your console etc? im hoping to find something i can put in on the down-low. any ideas?

nope, the aux input is in back of the head unit (through the changer input) and i just drilled a hole in the recess (sp?) under the lighter/ash tray and the wire comes out from there. it hides nicely when not in use, no visible wires.

yeah, the charger cord hangs out. but they make those charger/trasmitter/dock combos to lessen the cords. or you can do what some guy did here and hardwired his charger and hid the cord ( i don't remember where or what the thread was called)

there must not be many radio stations in monterey then. come over the hill, matthew, and that iTrip will piss you the hell off. i had one but returned it after a day of use. i went through every single freq. and it still sounded like garbled, mexican radio. the bay area has the most stations per frequency, with stations kind of battling for it, that it's nearly impossible to find a good one here.

i'm still waiting for my bro in-law to get a new deck and give me his w/ aux in the back. too cheap to go buy one :)

my friend's itrip would get crazy interference from his transmission. but as long as it's working for you, cool beans. i do like how it runs off the ipod battery. i had the belkin fm modulator that was powered by a AAA battery, which i never liked because i hate extra batteries, and that's why i switched to the aux input.

I like the dLo all in one (charger/fm transmitter/cradle) it just sticks in the cig. lighter and there are no wires whatsoever. It's on the pricey side ($100) but seems to be worth it for the clean look and performance.

I'm not happy with FM modulation however, so I will be putting the aux input into my HU asap. Just been too lazy to pull the radio out and plug it in.

r u talking about the itrip to listen to music on the radio? bcuz if so i had it and did not like it soo much. i kept having to adjust the volume from the ipod and the volume from the car.

what i use now is, i bought and auxilery wire cennecting my ipod directly to my stereo. Its the best, no static, and the best part is that i get to view all the songs i play on my screen. the wire cost me $25 CAD and i installed myself a lil stand to hold and charge the ipod.

i've the ipod mini with the iTrip, set to 104.9
works fine. Just wish the batt life will last longer.
I dun have a car charger for it.

yea i even hav ea bit of static/talking on 89.7 or whatever, when i turn on the ipod zero problems.

my radio is anal. I have to put my ipod in my cellphone holder to avoid static.
with ipod in the cellphone holder, set to 104.9 and volume set to 70%-80%, its more clear than my cd player. Honest, but keep in mind, my stero is old and 2/4 speakers in my car blew.

ya but with the itrip, when the weather is cloudy or rainy, it gets fuzzy, the the aux wire its good all the time

In my experiences, if you are anal about SQ, the iTrip is not for you. I had one for a week, and returned it, because I couldn't stand it. Not enough volume, distorted, bad quality. I just bought a deck with AUX and i've been using that for about a year. It trips all my friends out (or people who haven't been in my car before), they are like "Wait, you have a CD player, but don't need an iTrip? HOW??!?" then I show them the cord, and they think it's like the COOLEST thing ever.

The iPod is hooked up the Belkin car-kit. The car kit is hardwired behind the dash so the iPod turns on when you turn the car on. The iPod will also shut off when you turn the car off it is in charging mode (not playing). The signal cable goes from the car-kit to the back of the radio through the aux. input so the sound quality is perfect.

I just ran the aux input for ipod->kenwood and the plugs just barely reached into the glove box so, that's where they're @. The sound quality over the fm transmitter is like night & day, obviously, and much cheaper. So, if you have the aux-in option on your stereo and you care about your music, this is totally the way to go!
