Terry, I remember discussing something about the A/C compressor placement and how it could be a PITA if it's in the wrong place...is mine in the wrong place? If so, what do i have to do to remedy it?

Ok, I wasn't sure, because mine IS in a different spot than yours..notice how it's vertically mounted...dunno if it will get in the way of the IC piping or not...

Below is the pic of yours...

Honestly, that looks like it is in the same place as mine was. I had to move mine to get the intercooler pipes through the front of the car.

If you had the bumper off you could tell, but anyway, here's what I did. I don't know that you can avoid moving it regardless of how you put the intercooler in (I say that because I mounted mine differently). The pipes have to come in above the lower frame and they can't be too high.

Check out my picture on the "keep your bumper with Spool Stage 3" thread. You can see where the hole is. But here are two pictures of my AC condensor (I think it is a condensor rather than a compressor but my HVAC skills are limited).

Hard to see anything as I have 10 pounds of crap in a five pound engine compartment. So much for all the room I used to have.

I'm obviously handicapped when it comes to posting. . .
Anyway, there were supposed to be two pics.
Heres the other one. You can see the AC thing in question between the BOV and the MAF.

I don't know if I should scale down the pictures or not, but I thought the detail would help.

Kooldino,
looks like you dont have to modify anything. Very interesting....now there is 3 different places where this thing is mounted on the same car...and same year!!

Little Beavis: Thanks for the pics, I think I see the condensor in the 2nd one, but it's hard to gauge where it is since they're kind of disorienting. Could you do me a favor and snap a photo at the same angle Terry and I did so I can compare it more easily?

I dunno, maybe I'm paranoid, but I gotta disagree with you here. The condensor in my car will almost definitely interfere with IC pipe to the TB. I superimposed both of our pics so you can see what I mean...take a good look...

Okay. First: That picture made my eyes water. whoa!
Second: Um, I think you may actually be right. the I/C pipe would be headed right through the condensor.

Wow, who would have thought, three placements in the same year! I feel almost obligated to put a :wtf: guy up here.

This is going to be interesting. BTW, FYI, my condensor in my p5 is also mounted like Dino's.

Hmm, do me a favor and check the manufacturing date on your car for me. Thanks.

Terry, I think I may have found another issue on the PASSENGER side...do me a favor and post a top-down shot of that for me? I think I may have AC lines in the way there as well.

Actually, to ANYONE with the AC condensor mounted like terry's...do me a favor and snap me a pic of the passenger side (where IC inlet pipes would go) from the top down. Thanks!

This is not a problem if your a/c dryer is mounted like kooldino's. I just had to verify what exactlt needed to be done. If the dryer is positioned like in kooldinos car up and down it can easily be relocated to the position like on my car pictured above. You will have to CAREFULY bend the dryer lines and position it so that you will get proper room for those pipes.
Kooldino there is no interference on the passanger side regarding the charge pipes.
Here is the only pic I have of the turbo/intercooler pipe.

Good deal. Hopefully I don't break sh1t when I try to bend my hard lines.

Kooldino. . . I bent my dryer out of the way as shown in the pic. If i try to take a picture at the same point of view, you can't see the dryer.

As for the AC lines on the passenger side, I had to move those as well. I basically forced them up a bit. I'll try to find the picture of that. I know I gook one. Here's the best pic I have of the dryer or whatever it is (after I moved it). It WAS in the same spot as yours and it HAD to move. I moved it to be like Terry's but only moved it as far as I had to because I was worried about f'ing it up.

Ahh, good pic ma, thanks a bunch! Any tips for me when I go to do it?
