went to my local mazda/vw dealership on monday and ordered a chrome mazda "Flying M" and a VW Turbo badge. got them both today. I paid like 26 total. i think it looks pretty darn. was sorta hard to get the turbo emblem to totally cover both the holes where the old protege emblem was but in the end i got them totally covered. let me know what you think!

hmmm....i would get someone to photochop you a pic first. mine didn't look all that great with just the mazdaspeed logo on the right. and you will also have to deal with 3 pairs of holes in your hatch. bondo and paint or something. thats a lot to invest for a shaved hatch that i'm not sure will look all that great. maybe if you put the pro5 emblem in the center. i think it would look sorta weird with just something the on left. but it's your car, and your money and if you like it then say go for it. Rock on to those who do what they like and not what others want!

joe: i think it would look good w/the protege5 emblem in the center where your flying m is right now...at one point i'd thought about doing that, but didn't want to deal w/all the filling and repainting on the holes

(pb4ugoout reminded me of how i'd wanted to do that a while back when he mentioned it.)

damn, that "Turbo" badge looks good, where did you ever get the idea from? hehe looks nice bro - dave put his on today it also looks good!!

ya, i'm not sure if i'll even do it. i do like the idea of no badges ar all too? i have a mint blue grill so i don't have the fromt flyinf M anyway. not sure...(uhm) good idea about photochopping a pic first, move the protege5 emblem around on the car and see where it looks the best.

are you guys just sticking this over the holes? or are you actually filling the holes up so no water makes its way inside to rust?

I can't speak for the others .. but I know that with mine, I mounted the badge over the holes -- and then, from the inside, I filled in the holes completely with apoxy putty. Watertight, baby. :D

yea i did basically the same but, i used some of the left over glue from the "Protege" badge and filled the whole...atleast you cant see the light thru the inside of the trunk....somewhat 'water tight'

hehe... i used electrical tape on the holes (inside). So far so good.

btw... I got the chrome flying M as well. Looks pretty good. Matches the turbo, mazdaspeed emblems, and the exhaust tip. (shrug)
