A little idea I have

Like captain, it is very hard to capture this on camera. Here is the best I could do, which isn't much. I didn't have time to fool around with the settings on the camera but here is what I can show you.

First pic is of the drivers side foot well (with the illuminated switch) and the second is of the switches in there location (the other switch is for my foglights). Neons can't be seen at all and are merely zip tied under the dash so they are easy to remove if I ever decide.

It's not much but I hope it helps to make your decision.

I really hope you don't drive with them on if you do install them. They may not be distracting to you but it may be very distracting to other motorists and you don't want to be the cause of an accident. They should be for show purposes. Sorry for the fatherly rant.

mine is a little brighter on both sides if that helps. mark your pics came out ten times better than mine.

mine are way brighter from under the seats, and like I said, they're very bright from the back too so you can impress ditsy girls not matter where they sit in your car =). Yeah, I couldn't get it on camera at all, sorry man, but I recomend it.

Thats the thing though, my footwells will most likely not be bright enough to be seen outside the car, and if I find that they are, I will not drive as you have cautioned, making other motorist distracted is no good. But my guages are soo bright, that they prolly distract others, I have been looking into gettin a dimmer installed.

You'd be surprised how well these illuminate. The picture really didn't capture how bright they are because I didn't fool around with the settings on the camera.

Also, I haven't driven my car in months so it has been sitting in the cold for a while and I recently installed foglights so I was turning the lights on and off during the install so my battery is going dead. Because of this, the neons were very weak. With the lights on in the garage, I couldn't even tell they were illuminated.

They give off a glow that is comparable to the Mazda3 interior that was previously posted in this thread. Very bright.

I do it to all of my cars to aid nightnime visability (if you drop something you can find it and even read something if you need a quick glance). I think that neon would be gay. I use red or blue (look green when under the dash or seat) bullet style trailer clearance lights. The are one wire, have their own bracket, and are just bright enough to be useful but not annoying.
