I could have got IRTBs...

Well, I'm plopping down $2000 to get my car fixed and painted, and it hurts knowing I could have got the throttle bodies instead. That's ok, it's going to be awesome to have the cleanest 1st Gen in Ontario. Up in the north, we have rust problems, and on the 1st gens the door pillars were the first to go. The paint on my car was pretty good otherwise, but there's nothing wrong with perfect. Besides, as some of you know, I had some front end damage I had to take care of. Here's the thread from ClubProtege, let me know if you can't view it, since I forget if you have to be logged in to view threads......

Some more pics. I'm giddy with excitement. That's primer, not paint. Aw yeah!

It's going to stay black. They only made the 93 GTs in black, so I thought I'd be true to the marque.

What's AFL? American Football League? That was a pic of me after I grew my 39 day Survivor beard. I noticed how long the guys beard's on Survivor get, so I thought I'd give it a go. But when I shaved, I thought I'd have some fun, so that was my biker look. Here's my gay pedofile look....

....and just so you don't think I'm a complete loser, here's what I really look like...

AFL = australian football league. when a goal is scored, that's the same signal they give to indicate a goal.

have a look at www.afl.com.au - i'm sure this game will be massive in america in 10 years time

I highly doubt it will catch on. Americans tend to only like their own stuff, and rarely follow worldwide trends. That's why they like American football and not real football, NASCAR and not FI, etc. (no offense to my American posse of course, it's just an observation)

Just for the record...screw Nascar...screw everything it stands for...I will argue any Nascar fan day and night that it is pathetic...F1 rules the earth, one league to rule them all...

actually F1 and WRC is pretty much the only "sports" I am into...I don't even watch football, exept for the occasional Penn State vs. Ohio State game (me versus dad basically)

Agreed.

I also hate NASCAR, it's a bunch of old-school rednecks driving big-assed, slow, poor handling 'stock' cars. Compared to F1 of course......

I also like watching any SCCA coverage I can get too....I'm a Grassroots Motorsports subscriber.....best magazine, hands down

I am beyond hating the drivers already...I spent my childhood wondering why everyone like hill billy Nascar drivers...To me its simply the lack of technology, and mostly the tracks...different oval each week? same s***, different pile???...

If F1 drivers talked like Nascar drivers...I would still love F1...but Nascar is ridiculous..NON INDEPENDANT!!!!!!!!!!!!live axle rear ends....it simply sucks...no other way to describe it...its far from exciting...

and Nascar lovers always chime in with "it does take talent to handle those machines, oval or not it is still "tricky" "...HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...whatever...

Jeff Gordon drove jaun Pablo's BMW F1 car and kept it within a second or something of Jaun's pace...and Montoya kept Jeffie's lumina or whatever the hell that pile of s*** is within a few tenths of gordons pace...but but but...ON AN OVAL TRACK!!!!!!!!...Jeff drove a fast car well...good for him...now put Jeff Gordon at Monaco and have him try to keep up with Montoya or Shumacher for that matter...not going to happen...3 turns in less than 30 seconds??? Simple reasoning illustrates that a situation such as that requires at least three specific adjustments to vehicle speed and direction...requiring at least three movements of different wheels, levers and pedals... that kind of cognition would have any Nascar driver back in the woods hunting deer...

I know this may look ignorant to a Nascar fan (a unique choice of words I realize...to avoid any confusion, I am using the term ignorant in a sense of myself lacking knowledge of this subject...Not in the sense of the incorrect slang usage of ignorant meaning "someone who is rude", in which it is often stereotypically used by Nascar fans)...I do understand that the races are pretty competitive because of the restrictions made to every car...that keep them all extremely similar...a winning strategy takes a lot of man hours and experience...but I don't care...it still sucks, and will always suck...I the best part about Nascar is that spin-off Craftsman truck series...hahah...only in America can you see dumbfucks barelling around in loud ass pickup trucks built for oval tracks...now that is definately cooler than cool...

a bit off topic, but...I do like NHRA top fuel drag racing though...which seems contradictive being that I don't care for oval racing...But O-60mph in 30 feet of track, and in less than an 8th of a second, and 0-+300mph in around 4 seconds is simply nuts...not to mention that on full tilt they are "estimated" to make nearly 10,000bhp...yeah thats 10k...

As it's often neglected, your paint job and body work is, in fact, mantainence, so it comes before upgrades in the grand scheme of things, alas. =) I think you made the right choice, but keep saving those pennies; I bet the BP sounds amazing running IRTB's. ;)

I bet you're going to have the cleanest 1G Protege in all of North America. Well, actually, probably all of the Americas, too. Heh! For the record, I hate NASCAR. WRC and F1 are practically all I care about, sports wise. Unless you consider working on your car a sport, in which case...

Nobody will ever have a 1st gen cleaner than Cablemirc's.

i remember an ITV (brittish TV) special ages ago where martin brundle and colin mcrae swapped rides for a day. around silverstone mcrae was less than 1.5 seconds slower than brundle. around a dirt track not far from silverstone, brundle was less than 1.5 slower than mcrae.

just goes so show how good REAL racing drivers are.

now back to your regular programming...
