Pulling motor w/ tranny

Does anyone know if you can pull the motor and tranny out of our cars together through the top? I need to get a motor/autotranny out and I would rather not seperate them first.

Yes, it's possible. There's just enough room. It may be easier to angle the whole assembly a bit to facilitate removal.

BTW...right on with the Ramen noodles bit!! lol

Sweet. I think it's time to get that engine lift w/ load leveler.
The leveler is the way to go. It has saved my butt many times. Good luck with the replacement. FWIW, I hope the oil pan deal goes through, I'd hate to "blue" a bearing on my P5.

Yep...if not I'm considering modding my stock pan.

I'm assuming that this also holds true for an Auto tranny as I know they take up a little more room.

yeah the auto tranny is much larger but from what I've seen of it, there should be just enough room to do it 'all-at-once' style. there isn't anything fairly easily removed that sits under the fender wells.

Yes...
You all may laugh at me but when I changed to LSD and clutch. I removed the whole engine and trans axle.
Disconnect the wire harness, Motor mounts, of coarse take hood out. Pop out axles which the driverside is the hardest over passengerside. Chain it bomb it is out takes 1:30 hr is mech inclined.

I did the clutch in my escort gt like the hanes book said took me forever.... When my clutch went again in the escort gt my buddy said remove engine and tranny speeds things up. That what they do at their mazda shop.....
