Oil Leak: Worth Worrying About?

24 Signature Turbo, 40,000 Miles. Found this during servicing. Is it really worth worrying about?

kind of looks like residue not an actual leak. wiped mine down when I did the first oil change and it has never came back. I am at 48,0000 on my 23 turbo.

While it never caused noticeable oil loss on dipstick.. I had the same leak and repair was replacement of rear main seal.

It took 4 years to finally get Mazda to dig in and fix it on my '15

Looks like I will paying the dealer a visit. I noticed some of this residue when I changed my front diff and cleaned it up as well. I thought somehow it was leftover from oil change. Apparently not. Nothing big enough to accumulate on the floor but you won't see it unless you drop the front under-shield. Not hard but just a lot of screws and fasteners. Sorry for big pics... may not be easy to see on phone.

After fix in 2019... mine has been clean in same area as yours.

I know consistent overfilling can cause weeping. Just curious did the dealer do the oil changes? Was it overfilled a lot?

I have done all the oil changes with the exception of the first one. All done at 5K intervals, and no usage on the stick.

Looks like a rear main seal and it's only going to get worse over time. I'd warranty it.
