It goes up when in traffic but otherwise stays below 200 when the oil temp hikes. What’s the coolant temp in relation to the engine oil temps ?
Thank you! I didn't know that. Was surprised that I could even get the ATF temp on a CX-3 mid trim. Even if it is a calculated number, it is the only number I can go by.Something to keep in mind on engine oil temps. The 2.5 turbos have an actual oil temperature sensor, most of the NA models do not and it is a calculated temperature based on engine coolant and vehicle load.
ATF temp is real in any Skyactiv and measured in the pan.Thank you! I didn't know that. Was surprised that I could even get the ATF temp on a CX-3 mid trim. Even if it is a calculated number, it is the only number I can go by.
I will make a chart later for engine load, coolant temp, and oil temp from the log.
Thank you! I didn't look for the sensor though when I had the pan off. Is it on the side or at the bottom?ATF temp is real in any Skyactiv and measured in the pan.
I tried two phones (different Android versions). While the calculated engine load is monitored, it is not always an option to choose from the log. The drive this morning didn't include the engine load as an option so I used vehicle speed.
An earlier log did include the option but the info doesn't seem to be right.
Either way, the dip in the record is concerning. Not sure if the BT lost connection temporarily or the sensor lost power.
The coolant temp has been around 194 for as long as I can remember. Coming from a MINI that suffered an overheating episode, this is the only temp that I was watching on the CX. It stays constant after 8 years and 150K+ miles. There was no leak and I still have more than 3/4 of the OEM jug from 2017 after occasional top-off. I thought maybe this is the one thing that was indeed life-time quality. For reference the coolant is the fluid that regulates the excess heat of the engine which would in most cases average around180F.
Check what’s the condition of the cooling system of your car bc oil is meant to lubricate and handle the temperate range where as coolant is to regulate the excess heat (above 180F).

You’ve never changed the thermostat or the water pump ?The coolant temp has been around 194 for as long as I can remember. The first coolant drain/fill was this July after the second drain/fill of the ATF. The old fluid was clear though the color has faded. Let me think what else it could be...
No.You’ve never changed the thermostat or the water pump ?
