Upgrade from '23 PP to a '25 PP - Any advantage?

'23 CX5 PP, '22 BRZ
Besides gaining parking sensors, the 360 camera and I-Stop (lol) , is there anything to really gain? I've heard that they tweaked the 25's engine computer and suspension and some folks say they like it better. Not sure its worth the $.

No one seems to discuss going from physical dials to the lcd dashboard. Is it brighter? On my 23, the lighting goes from dim to full on and there is no in-between.

They didnt fix the TPMS to read individual tire pressures as fas as I understand it.

Tnx

I'd like to know more about this as well, but we only have one person's subjective experience. Nothing official anywhere.

Nothing has changed since 2022.

The only differences between 2023 and 2025 are as you mentioned, just a reshuffling of the top features. Plus, they started putting body-color trim on the car instead of black. Oh, and they changed the grille again.

Fresh 3-year, 36K mile warranty.

Not to be snippy but the point is they have announced the '26 albeit w/o the full specs but with pics. The interior has changed SIGNIFICANTLY. I don't personally like huge screens in cars hence the '26 is out for me.

NOTE: The big screen is only on top-level trims. The 10+" screen is on the lower trims (no info yet on if those will also have additional knobs or not).

So hold off on buy/no-buy decisions until ALL the details are released.

Another advantage of the bigger screen in the ‘26 is it gives you something to watch when the road gets boring. (One of the reasons I stay with what I’ve got vs. the wall to wall LCD panel in current cars)

The real advantage of waiting for a '26 is they finally corrected the 2 problems the car's had since day one: not enough cargo room and (more importantly) terrible rear seat legroom!

If people want a more cargo space and rear seat leg room isn't that why Mazda has offered the CX-7, CX-9, CX 70, CX-90 etc...?
Meanwhile the CX-5 has been a top selling vehicle primarily because it handles great and is not too big.

I've owned 2 of these things 10 years apart and there's no reason an SUV with the footprint of a CX-5 shouldn't/couldn't have (at least) decent leg room for rear seat passengers. Never mind a little more usable cargo space. I'm glad to see them finally do the right thing and I seriously doubt it will come at the expense of handling or overall performance. And if you think the CX-7 had more room than a CX-5, then you never tried to squeeze into the back seat of one! As much as I like Mazdas, they have always had some strange priorities as far as space utilization goes. I downsized from a 2013 CX-5 (before getting a 2023 model for my wife) to a 3rd gen Mazda 3. I love that car for its handling and overall performance, but I rarely put anyone in the back seat as it's the very definition of a "penalty box". And I recently had the opportunity to take a CX-30 for a short drive and found the interior space absolutely ludicrous. I haven't the foggiest idea who would buy one unless they just thought it was "cute".

Try a CX-90, you might like it.
