Mazda shouldn't say that! In fact on NHTSA frontal crash test ratings which are printed on the window sticker, 2016 CX-5 got 3 stars out of a 5-star rating system for front passenger! This's one of the worst on passenger-side rating in the same class! That's why Mazda should make NHTSA crash ratings on 2017 CX-5 available as soon as possible, to "overcome" the poor NHTSA passenger-side rating record on 2016 CX-5!
This actually makes me have my wife driving a lot more when we ride together on our CX-5. Of course the little hassle of re-adjusting the driver seat (which makes me miss the memory seat function more) is another reason of letting her drive!
