My blower motor is on its way out due to water damage but cant find the leak. Ive used a vacuum and compressed air on the drain hole but didnt work. I purchased an aftermarket fan and seems simple but finding the leak might be harder. Does anyone know of the likely plugged areas to look?

wow, this is a tough one, since you're going to replace the blower motor anyway,

I would suggest to get a fluid extractor and snake it thru the motor blades behind the glovebox to try to suck out as much clogged water as possible

The reason for this is when you remove the motor "bowl" you don't dump a bunch of water into the passenger compartment

Once you drain the water and remove the motor "bowl" , look for the clogged drain line that flooded the "bowl" and get a zip drainer

and try to snake it thru and poke thru the clog.

I've never tried this before, just the only thing I can think of, maybe it might help.

Hopefully you have a good diagram to work off of?

Looks like the drain hose #8 is the one to clean?

Do you know if the drain tube is accessible by just removing the glove compartment? I dont really want to remove the center dash. I wont have time to look until the weekend.

You can get to the drain tube from the driver's side foot well. You will have to get very aggressive with a heating duct to get it out of the way, however.

I doubt your problem is in that hose, though. I pulled it off my car when my drain got clogged and it was completely clean. The clog is most likely up inside the HVAC unit. I had to unclog that drain 3 or 4 times before it stayed open... Once or twice with compressed air, then I used a vacuum a couple of times.

I'm going to give it one more shot with the shop vac with an air tight connection. If that doesn't work then it's off to the dealer to find the clog. I'm definitely not pulling the dash apart
