2016 Mazda CX-5
Hello all, just purchased a new 2016 CX-5 Touring with no packages/accessories. I'd like to add navigation support to it in the near future. I've looked at mazdagear and Ebay for a navigation equipped SD card but am unsure about which part number would be compatible with my vehicle. Reading around other forums and using Google, I think I've narrowed it down to [0000-8F-Z09A] or [BHP1 66 EZ1D] for which would work. Does anyone have first hand experience with either of these part numbers and can confirm that either of them work?

yes - just pop the sd card in

BUT
suggest you you also go to mazda connect, create an account and get the mazda toolbox software for map updates

also get a 2nd sd card (same size, type)
1. check toolbox for updates, update if needed
2. backup the original sd card to your PC via toolbox
3. restore the backup to the 2nd sd card
4. use the 2nd card in the cx-5, stash the original away with title, papers etc

variety of posts here about doing backups, copying new card etc

I received the SD card I purchased from eBay yesterday and tried to make a back up but it wouldn't work. Initially I had problems getting the Mazda toolbox to even recognize the card until I installed it into the car, after that I was able to register and make a back up of it. But it wouldn't allow me to restore a backup to the non original SD card. Also the extra SD card I purchased was a 16gb class 4, was in a rush to buy it and didn't even look to make sure if it was the right size. Not sure if the mismatch complicates things further. However, I used HDD raw tool to make an exact copy of the card to a flash drive and then copied that to the 16gb SD card, but when I installed it into the navigation unit, nothing showed up on screen.

Edit: Should I try an 8gb class 10?

the system puts some files on the card, so yes it needed to be put in the sd slot first

i've only used the same size, but worth a try
the new card should also be placed in car first
