Hey guys whats up, I've been looking and looking on how to keep my factory Unit/Bose system without having to change any speakers, Bose Amp and Head Unit itself. After a lot of research and looking up info here(CX-5 thread) I decided to GO FOR IT! I'm gonna name some stuff you will need to PLUG AND PLAY. I didn't want to buy an amp and sub because it would have taken up precious cargo space in the back. So I decided to go with a Powered SUB and boy do I love it. It's pretty DAMN LOUD ACTUALLY. Now on what to do first. Disconnect the + and - from the battery posts. Then get the Amp Kit and Hook it up and run cables to the back (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xrcSyvNWJk). Then take the Main radio out....this is the link on how to do that (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoncFAELsDQ). Get the Mazda Stereo Add An Amp Amplifier Adapter and unhook the OEM back radio wiring harness( and plug it into the ADAPTER and do the same for the other OEM cables going to the amp (Both OEM wiring harnesses are plugged in the back of the radio... so just unhook and hook to the ADAPTER). Make sure you leave the Glove compartment off so it can make it easier to access the RCA cables that come out from ADAPTER. Hook up the BOSS RCA wires to the ADAPTER'S REAR RCA'S. Now have the Sub kit in hand (came with sub) and hook up the ground, remote and Power..BUT DO NOT HOOK IT UP TO THE SUB YET!!! Now connect the - post and the + post again. Turn the CX-5 on and play a song. Make sure the sub has EVERYTHING TURNED DOWN so it wont blast or blow a fuse. First hook up the remote 3.5mm to sub then RCA's and the bottom part (has ground, remote and power) last. This will turn the Sub on. Mess with the settings in the back to get the BASS you want and you're done!!! Sorry, I wish i would have taken pics but I was just hoping it would work first and it did. I'm sorry this is my first DIY so I know its kinda bad but if you have questions let me know and ill try and answer them ASAP. HOPE this helps and if YOU DON'T LIKE THE POST..KEEP IT TO YOUR SELF!!!
