To badge or to debadge...

Do you know if the new car have alignment holes behind the Mazda5 logo?. I would debadge mine if not for the hole.

I'm shocked to hear that there might be holes! I would have bet money it was just a flat adhesive badge.

Let me clarify this even further. The first generation does have alignment holes for the Mazda badge but not for the 5 badge. The second generation does not have any alignment holes for either the Mazda or 5 badge.

I would remove 5 and put premacy on! Im not a fan of badgeless

Hadn't considered the Premacy option. That's a good option, I'm not sure why but it just doesn't appeal to me much though.

That might explain why my 1st gen was half debadged by the previous owner. It still has the Mazda but no 5. I planned to remove the Mazda but I guess it is not an option anymore.

It looks like the Mazda round logo above the license plate is part of the plastic trim and it is not applied to the body

Iirc there are two alignment holes when I took the badge off. Its just double sided sticky tape.

Based on the shape/geometry of the Mazda emblem badge (basically just a circle), I would expect that one would have alignment holes. It would be more difficult to have a jig capable to easily place that badge properly. A long thin badge like the nameplate is much easier to use a jig to set the badge correctly.
