Brace yourself

Having these fitted today,

Previously i had lowered with H&R Springs, OEM 22mm Front sway bar and Corksport rear sway bar and autoexe front stabilizer links , which made a big difference, however i plan to take this a bit further as you can see. below





Whats not pictured is the Tein Street Advance Coil-overs and the EDFC unit plus the modified JBR Adjustable rear camber arms, Ill get pics of these soon for you all.

too true, some of the parts are very nice indeed, the struts are lovely but all hidden and soon to be covered in mud .

Should stiffen the chassis up and flatten out the cornering somewhat , plus the car will be an inch or more lower so will look cooler too, in cabin damping force adjustment will be good to fiddle with and get right mix / balance of performance and comfort.

Man.. if only shipping wasn't so high for atuoexe stuff. btw, what rear sway bar are you using? IMO start a build thread. what are those slotted bars next to the sway bar/endlinks? And I'm guessing you have fwd? that rear lower brace doesn't look like it will fit AWD

I bought the lot at once so was able to put it all in one single big box so shipping overall wasn't too bad, someone should convince corksport to stock the autoexe stuff, perhaps they can bring it in, in bulk to save on shipping.


Anyhow I have an AWD, I already run the corksport rear sway bar and I got the autoexe links for the rear so I can use the 2nd set of holes in the corksport sway bar for the stiffer setting, the facto links are just not strong or long enough.


I already have the autoexe front tie rod ends and stabilizer arms installed on the already upgraded 22mm OEM sway bar from a mazda 6, but the front sway bar which is now being replaced with the autoexe 24mm unit because why not .

Everything it's nice and I appreciate the effort, but you are spending to much on this commuter car imho.
I will do a couple mods myself(have the CS springs, still in box), when I will have the time, but I'm not going overboard. I will not recoup much, from all this mods, when it's time to sell the car.

Yes the toys and mods are expensive , but ill have the car 2.5 more years and i want to enjoy it for the whole time.
I own 5 cars, all the others are a bit over the top toys but this is my daily drive so im just tricking it out a little so it gives me the illusion i'm in one of my higher perf better handling toys

CX-5 well I just love the low down torque and diesel performance that I get to abuse off every set of lights, coupled with the frugal running costs and it already handled very well compared to all the other suv's in the price range, and its comfy compared to the other cars I have.

It's my latest hobby and I enjoy it , little else to waste my money on

^^ i agree tibimakai, but its your money and a Hobby. Personally, the last thing i will get for the CX5 will be coilovers and camber adjustment if its available

Hey, I knew a guy that spent this kind of money every other week stuffing his nose with white powder to fill his high, so spending money on cars and toys is what I'd do too if I had it. Enjoy your CX-5 to it's fullest! (drive)

Hmm, I didn't think the auto exe links were longer. I contacted them about the length and it seems like I remember it being shorter than stock. I don't remember what the number was, I just remember thinking it was shorter than the stock link. If you don't mind, if you could get a rough bolt to bolt measurement at near ma extension? It's something you won't find listed on their site.

Quick Update , Opting to retain the plastic under trays with the braces fitted took a lot of extra fiddling, but well worth it, thank god my engineer is fussy and wanted to retain them where as autoexe seem to suggest that leaving them off fine.
Anyhow that chewed up a large portion of the day sop we never got the coilovers fitted, that's todays job.

I like to spend too on my cars, I'm just not going over the board and it's my hobby too.
Eventually(when I will have my own house, hopefully soon), I will start building a VWsuby Beetle or Vanagon/Transporter with an STI engine.

Honestly, I don't see anything overboard with what he is doing. He has a powerful motor (with more potential) and a good chassis..I would love to do what he is doing. The issues being I don't have a powerful motor and IMO, not worth the labor of adding then possibly removing them to trade for a diesel/bigger engine option (not to mention added weight for the 2.0l). 6.6 Seconds AWD is respectable for any car really.

I didn't know our CX5 is that weak, they made way too many braces for this car. is not even an open top car. if they are at it, they should make a butterfly brace like the ones for Miata
