Sparco Seat Base

Sparco offers a 600 series seat base for the Mazda 2. Has anybody used one? It look like it will accomodate either a fixed mount or a slider option which can be used with side mounts. It looks like you can also configure it to use a bottom mount seat, but I already have some side mount seats. Thanks.......
 
I did a little more digging and the Sparco base is really just the planted technology base that is rebranded. I spoke with the guys at planted and they said the base was developed for the 2nd gen car and they were not sure if it will work with the 3rd gen. I will take some pic and measurements this week and send them the info. to make a determination.
 
I have both planted seat bases in my car (driver and passenger). The fitment is perfect. $140.00 each shipped online.
 
Great. Thanks for the reply. Did you add a slider by any chance? To be a bigger pain, can you post a picture and are you just living with the air-bag light? I know you can use a resistor on the driver side, but I never found a way around on the passenger side with the weight sensor on my MX5? Thanks again.
 
Finished installing my OMP ARS seats using the planted seat base and with no sliders (driver side only) yesterday. The brackets were very easy to work with and felt solid... a bit too heavy IMHO. Seats and steel side mounts were 25lb and the seat base was 8lb, that makes it a 3lb weight saving but then that's not why I got them. I had to install the seat all the way towards the middle and it's still touching the B pillar. Also the airbag light is taken care of.

There are three sensors you need to worry about. If you are keeping the OEM seat belt, just reconnect after you install. The seat position sensor can also be detached from the seat and connected (I used a zap strap and just left it under the seat).

For the seat side airbag I just cut the cable behind the connection (on the seat side) and soldered a 10ohm resistor to it. I think there is a range that would work, I've seen people using 2ohm and the ECU still thinks there is a airbag connected. I just had a bunch of resistors and didn't event bother looking at the color codes, just tried them one by one until one worked and it turned out to be 10 ohm. Just make sure you don't connect an ohm-meter to the seat side or your airbag might go off. Oh and also make sure your battery is disconnected for 15 min before you disconnect.
 
On the MX5 I think it was around 3.5 ohm, but I would have to double check. I would think it is pretty close on the 2. You can also just stick the resistor in the holes in the connector and use a piece of tape to hold it in place. That way you do not have to cut the wires. I test fitted a Cobra Imola Pro today and I have no issues with it hitting the pillar.

I thought about it but then I had a mental image of the resistor being knocked out of the socket during an accident... call me paranoid (shrug).
 
I went and pulled the build sheet for the kit from Mazdaspeed as I couldn't chase down if it was 250 or 275 rear spring in their kit. The part# on their webpage is 0000-04-8250-07 which is listed as "rear spring, (250lbs./7"/2.25ID)
