seventystangfan's '02 Midnight Blue P5 Build/Progress

Damn it that's cool !!!

That's way up there on the silly/stupid scale.

You got me thinking like I gotta come up with sumpthin really dumb.

I'll try to be original too.

By The Way,.. It's not too late 4 U,.. you can mount something like that anywhere on a separate switch.
It's not like they won't be able to hear it where ever you mount it.

There's two free spots here 4 yor switch.

Those plastic things just pop out. You can just drill a hole through it and get any switch you like with a threaded round mounting base.

I'd figure a momentary push button. (the kind you have to hold in to turn it on)

You may need a relay but just check the amp rating of the switch versus the horn or what ever gadget you want to wire in.

Don't forget about those "aah ooo gaa" type horns too,... some of them you can program your own sound.

Junk yards are great for switches and horns. Any 12 Volt switch or horn should work. (truck horns are great)

6000k/3000k is the way to go! I did the same kits from ddm on my p5 and its great! youll love it at night! especially in fog

Beautiful upgrade! I'm so jealous right now I wish I had HIDs.....

Check out DDM Tuning! Their kits are only $30 apiece right now. Both of my kits with shipping came out to $80. Very worthwhile upgrade.

They are just the right color tone. I definitely wouldn't go higher than 6 unless it was going to be a show-only car. And the 3000 on the bottom is looking great.

I see. Thanks man! I wasn't sure where to cut, so I figured I would just wait it out and see if I can pick up an extra grille to modify.

I got my headlight HIDs installed tonight! So much visibility. I also got one fog light done, but for the next one I'm going to try and get a stepping drill bit. I had a crappy time getting it done. But they look great! I love the contrast between 6000k and 3000k.

damn look at all the glare and lost light compared to a nice cheap TRFS projector retrofit

I haven't gone the HID route only because I don't trust myself to retrofit my own headlights to projectors and not have them aimed all croocked and cockeyed.

is there any retro fix that you dont need to cut anything and easy to install

morimoto minis bolt to the light shroud, once you have the lights apart you can finish the whole install in under an hour. there is no need to cut any part of the OE lights to have projectors

Morimoto minis are bi-xenon projectors, which give you high and low. You will need to make a high beam plug adapter if you go that route.

If you were to get those, then wouldn't you need another set to go where the high beam bulbs are? Or would that bulb just be taken out and nothing would be in its place? (Or I guess one could purchase sedan headlights and retrofit those instead?)

Or you could just get the minis and retro them with high and low... Then get an adapter for even more lights to run in factory high bulb on the pro5... Just a thought

When I arrived the seats were already stripped out. Can anyone tell by VIN if it had leather seats? Here is the door tag-

VIN wont tell you that. The VIN is created when the car is, seats are a premium add on.

On the passenger side door there is a sticker that tells u all the options that came with the car.

The VIN can tell you if it came with leather if you look it up in Mazda 's system. If you call a Mazda dealer and give them the VIN they can tell you every option that the car had.
