I just found a place that rebuilds starters. He said he estimates $85 for the 6's starter, which is a hell of a lot better than 260 for a new one.

Do you need an upgraded starter? What for? Isn't the motor stock? I found a great deal on a new starter for my KL on eBay for like $50 shipped. The new owner of that motor said it's been working fine.

Well, I can turn the new motor myself (with just the harmonic ballancer), but the starter (that started the motor right before i pulled it for the rebuild) and now it just doesn't have enough juice to crank it over. I've tried different batteries, and a jumper box. Nada. I know compression bumped up a touch, and the timing chains are new and tight, and the heads are new and tight, and the rings are really tight, but hell, it should still turn over (especially since I can turn it by hand).

Starters are expensive as hell, and I'm weary of buying online with some offbrand.

kinda what i was imply with "tis the season" lol

little difficult getting the treestand, bow and case and then a deer in the hatch.. granted i COULD do it, but it would make one hell of a mess and wouldnt be very easy. not to mention all the old gravel roads getting to the hunting grounds

Getting anywhere isn't a problem in the 7, but getting a deer home is. Luckily with the waterfowl hunting, my dad is always there, with the truck and boat. Getting 8 birds home isn't an issue whatsoever in the 7.

I'm not saying it wouldn't get home, but that a truck makes it easier. Also, every time I see a Raptor I get all excited, just something about their presence on the road.....

120 hours added or total? Wish I got a bonus. We get points to redeem on crap, It's new since I came back so not sure if it's a yearly thing or not.

You do have that roof rack permanently attached. Why not use that for it's intended purpose instead of being "eye candy"?
