As I type, my new 2013 Meteor Gray/Sand GT w/tech package is sitting in my driveway. I must admit, I've walked by my front door about 12 times since I've been home specifically so I could gaze at my new toy. The 20" wheels ROCK. Now, just gotta practice driving that bad boy, especially parallel parking...yikes! I used to have a 3 and that zippy little gem turned on a dime, stopped with a tap, and zoom zoomed so well. Super sad to see it go, but it was an '05 and the separation is a bit easier due to my new car having every feature under the sun (although it hasn't cooked me dinner yet).

My car came with automatic starter, all weather mats and wheel locks.
I plan to buy the rear cargo tray, but what else should I consider buying and anything specific I should do now?

Thanks!

Welcome nlm74.

See my signature for what I put on mine.

"...cargo mat,cargo tray..."

Ceric, since you mentioned it, I thought I'd ask. What's the difference between the "cargo mat" and the "cargo tray" that you've listed? Thanks.

Congrats on the new car! A lot of folks (including me), have bought the 1st/2nd/3rd row mats from WeatherTech. I personally bought the FloorLiner Digital Fit set. For the cargo area, I have the OEM Cargo Tray too (not WeatherTech).

I know what you mean about learning to park. I think it took me a good 6 months to "unlearn" the parking muscle memory from my previous car and adjust it to my '12 CX9 GT. :) I kept ending up crooked or not in the center of a spot until I finally adjusted to the size of this car.

As for other accessories, I have the rear stainless bumper guard, class III Curt Hitch as well. Yakima roof crossbars for the factory rails.

I also recommend the Cargo Net (in addition to the Cargo Tray) and the Front and Rear Splash Guards. I also added the Roof Rack Side Rails (not the crossbars) for appearance only. If you plan to actually use the Roof Rack, you would want and need the crossbars as well.

Great color choice, btw. If it had been available on my 2012, the Meteor Gray with Sand is what I would've picked also! I almost got the Dolphin Gray, but it had a little too much of a green 'tint' for my taste.

As for parking, you've got the Rearview Camera, Backup Sensors and handy tilt-down side mirrors to guide you...you'll be parking it like a pro in no time! I've had mine for 11 months now and my only fear when parking is curbing one of those ROCKIN' 20" wheels.....eek! (gah)
