The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Whats rubbish is the fact that my dealer software took a the first digit off of a vehicle with 111,274 mile vehicle & since I'm the internet sales consultant my e-mail and lead systems are blowing up like crazy with people wanting a deal. I've got a lot of pissed off people to talk to this morning.... (gah)

speaking of whats on last night, anyone watch that joke of a fake ass documentary on "megaladon" to start off shark week...

not only was it clearly fake as hell (every pic and video was magically really blurry, despite more than half being from the last year or 2), it was incredibly hard to believe, but what really pissed me off was that they kept passing it on the entire 2 hour show as real actual occurances, dates etc etc...

didnt know Discovery was going the way of fake ass bulls*** shows like History

I ended up watching that...
The attack at the end couldnt have been more staged. Up until then, it was fairly interesting. That big ass chum slick had to be doctored though

i called bulls*** when they took the video you saw in the first few mins, and slowed down and cleaned up the audio and you magically hear OMG A GIANT SHARK!!! like its all just too ******* convenient hahaha
im not the smartest person in the world but i damn sure aint about to get trolled by a TV channel... PLUS what i snapped at the end kind of sums up everything for me about whether it was real or fake...

If they can take a few digits off the price, i need a beater car ;)

Animal planet did the same with their mermaid thing a couple years ago... My mom still thinks its real. I can't believe we're related.

On another note, remind me not to brake check anyone while on the bike.

Begin phone story:
I'm in constant contact with my phone, i'd never get rid of it- i'm waiting for a text message. Someday... someone will send me a text message, and it will be awesome.

My phone's a samsung rogue- they quit making them in like 2009 or some crap because they suck. It uses a pressure sensitive touch screen, but after it's been in your pocket for like... well actually, the second you put it in your pocket the layers of the touch screen smash together and it goes into what i call, "Menu Mode". The only button that works is the menu button, and once you've gone into the menu, the button that backs out of the menu is in the spot on the touch screen that still works. The whole phone is made around the touch screen and when it's messed up it's pretty much useless. I can still take pictures and receive calls though, and that's good enough for me.

First rogue was $100 with our stupid plan, and when it's screen broke while i was on vacation in South Carolina i decided it was smart to spike it on the ground like a foot ball. I call that touch-downing, and you can touch-down all kinds of broken electronics.
2nd one was an ebay phone that was like $20- same problem, bought it anyways because i can't use anything else... it seems like it's either buy a stick/flip phone or something like an iphone (by the way... iphones weigh a ton.), and those options both suck.

I still like my phone though; we have fun- since it's almost useless now, i like to put it in the freezer over night to see if that will fix it, and while i'm hiking i use it to take pictures of mushrooms.
End phone story mode-

I can no longer tell my mother she is the most electronically challenged person... dislike. :P

So I test drove a focus st saturday just for fun. Hop in the car dealer drives it down the road to try to sell it to me with options, didn't care I wanted to put it on the butt dyno :P Anyways, I switched and hopped in the drivers seat, very nice recaros :) Very tight clutch and no pedal feel really. I turn on to the highway like a normal human being then, I smash the throttle :D shift from 1st to 2nd quickly and the tires break loose. Dealer turns and say we we we we can't do that no no. BAHAHAHA I continued WOT into 3rd and 4th after he said that :P He tried to tell me that it has twin turbo ACTION. Nice car, great sounding engine, too cramped interior for me though. No where to stretch and my head was pretty much in the roof. At the end of the day, I'd rather have the MSP even though its on jack stands.

Lolz, my reaction to how he tried to explain turbo ACTION

On another note, remind me not to brake check anyone while on the bike.

no matter how much I'd love to break check someone every so often, I have a general understanding of physics - weight, velocity, and the density of pavement - to not do something as stupid as that.

I thought I saw where that whole giant shark thing was done like a spoof and wasn't serious at all. Didn't watch it myself I had other stuff on the DVR I decided to watch.

Thank god no.

The guy on the bike had to grab a fist full of brakes when a semi cut him off. The Pacifica & GSX-R ended up locked together at aproximately 65mph. The Pacifica thankfully kept a level head and slowly came to a stop. No doubt that being jammed in like that saved the guys life.
how did he not get catapulted off when the Pacifica hit him? There was a dash cam vid not too long ago that showed a guy in a car hitting a bike that brake checked him, I'm not sure but it looked like the tire got smashed into the swingarm and locked it up, he did a little sliding and fell off, then slid some more on the pavement.

I had the same thing happen to me late one night coming across 76. A pickup truck with trailer merged on the highway and apparently wanted the left hand lane, NOW. Occupied the same spot I was in, I swerved and hit the brakes so hard I locked up the rear wheel on the rumble strips. There's NO WAY he didn't see me with my HID at midnight. No way....

I give motorcycles PLENTY of room, because I don't want to be responsible for the death of one of them.

Some motorcyclists are just asking for it though. I mean the ones that are weaving in and out in traffic, using the shoulder and all other available pavement. Seemingly ignoring everthing else on the road. Riders have to be more defensive than they tend to be.

Agreed, but having to grab a handful of brake due to a Semi could have had zero contact with the front of a car if the car had provided adequate stopping/slowing distance.
