The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Thats not bad.

I've heard some people have not been happy with the HPS in the rain or while cold, but I've been running them on the 7 for 3 years, and haven't had a problem, even when it was 5*F out. Also, I ran them on the 6 and never had a problem.

Oh forgot about The Walking Dead!

Zooey Deschanel... meh, didn't like the show

Watched the first season of Californication, didn't feel compelled to keep watching.

Going to be an awesome season of the Walking Dead. I'm looking forward to it. Here's the trailer, it's almost 5 minutes long so if you're the type that doesn't like to know anything about a show don't watch it.

To the employment convo. I work for an international manufacturer of fine after dinner china. We make toilets, sinks, and urinals at my plant.
Sho, I put Hawk HPS on our 3 and to be honest I don't like them very well. Although they have worn like iron and produce very little dust the initial bite when cold is a bummer for me.

Really? I had them on my P5 as well before I did the MSP front brake upgrade. IIRC, I gave the HPS to Evan when I took them off. I actually like them when autocrossing. Daily wasn't all too bad either. I got them from DaveB after he did the MSP upgrade and did a track event with them.

Thanks for the spoiler alert Will! I'll steer clear of it.

Off the top of my head these are on season pass: Walking Dead, Talking Dead (funny and like the interviews with cast members), Ray Donovan, Under The Dome, Teen Wolf, Top Gear, Suits, Pretty Little Liars (go ahead and laugh but our daughter got us hooked on it the first season....now I feel compelled to watch every week to see what happens next even though it's pissing me off), BBT, Bones, Whodunnit, Smackdown, Monday Night Raw (the boy inside me likes wrestling and so does my son), Grey's Anatomy, Scandal (freaking awesome), Deception and a few others that will start back up in the Fall that I know I'm forgetting.

Larry...thanks for the chuckle....after dinner china!!!! (rlaugh)

Nate, how are you liking this roll that the USMNT is on? They are playing well and IMO Klins has done a pretty good job with them. Have to like the way he handled Donovan and making him re-earn his spot on the WC team. I'll be watching them tomorrow and would like to see Mexico win as well. After all they are the big rival and would make for a great final game.

Saw the pilot for "under the dome" yesterday and it wasn't too bad. Will definitely give it another go.
Arrested development is just plain weird... Not sure if I care for the nextflix version.
Been catching up on Fringe - pretty good sci-fi show.
True blood is effin CRAZY! Sometimes cheesy, sometimes stupid, but I <3 boobies, and sookie shaped up this season.

Speaking of, anyone seen snookie after the kid? She went from a beach whale to an anorexic guidette. Gross.

Top gear definitely "hovered it up," if you know what I mean.

Hawk HPS or Carbotech AX6.

I put HPS on my MS3 right before I sold it.

I have powerstop slotted and drilled w/ powerstop ceramic on all four corners best brakes I've ever owned. Brake dust is nearly non-exsistant. I haven't washed my wheels in over a month and they are still spotless.

Wow, I'm late to a bunch of conversations. Everyone already knows what I do: I'm a design engineer/project manager for turbine components in commercial jet engines. Looking to change that though. Regarding television the only shows I watch regularly anymore are Doctor Who and The Walking Dead and I watch Top Gear when I remember it's on. I do watch a lot of soccer and college football when they're in season. Like Pablo I used to catch a whole bunch of shows but I was wasting too much time in front of the television.

We watch:
American Ninja Warrior
Topgear
Topgear America
Bones
NCIS
NCIS LA
Flashpoint
Whose Line Is It Anyways (new season is pretty good)
Wipeout
Camp (new show, pretty funny)
Golden Boy (canceled after one season, was great)

I know there are more, but I can't remember off the top of my head

IIRC you work at GE right?

My brother-in-law just got a job there, I think he's going to be in Dayton for the first year though.

I think they've played great. I'm not sure how much Donovan really had to do to "earn" his spot back but I like the approach Klins has taken. I think the guy that has benefited most is DeMarcus Beasley. It seems like he is running all over the field and playing with a purpose instead of filling a hole and just playing up to get shots on goal.

Dude, no kidding! I didn't see Sunday's yet. Gonna do that later tonight or tomorrow.

What the hell?!?!

Has anyone had any experience in landscaping? Does it pay well? I know it's a lot of manual labor but if the pay isn't there, meh.

As far as hawk pads, the ONLY cars I ever had not enough bite with was HPS on my 01 neon in the cold (one good stop and then they're fine), but my ex's neon on HP+ was fine except for being squirrelly as s*** just because there wasn't an available upgrade for the rear drums and the fronts were super over powering.

The HP+ get insane when you start getting heat in them. My 98 neon with HP+ all around on track was a beeeeeast! Loved it. Heat em up, get more grip for the next corner. I was braking at the absolute last minute time after time, no issues. Until I found out my right rear caught on fire and turned the rotor blue due to the sway bar smashing the stainless brake line somehow and kept that pad locked up and melted the piston a bit lol.

I can't imagine what race pads must be like.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

get it off! Get it off!!!!!

Hahaha!

I had HP+ on the Miata for a while. They were pretty awesome no doubt about it. Next track day at Mid-Ohio if it's possible I'll take you around in my Miata with the Carbotech XP10/8 combination.
