If I got more pix of the car than the kids, is that strange? (scratch)(scratch)(screwy)

A CX-9 that had a bad day (not mine).

Not a problem..

First towing experience, went well! Took it up over 11,000 foot mountain pass to boot...

A good shop can paint the stock black for far less than importing from canada. I do a fair amount of business exporting to canada. the exchange rate sucks.

Took a little family Vaca to Chicago, then Warren Dunes in Michigan.
This photo is at New Buffalo, MI city beach. We were the first people on the beach in the morning. It was awesome!

Nice! Any more pictures of the trip with cx-9 loaded up? What kind of mileage did you get? 8-10mpg?!

Heh, no more pictures unfortunately. I got around 12-15 IIRC, didn't keep too close track. But I used about as much fuel as I typically do on that same run without all the gear maybe a little more. Honestly couldn't tell I had stuff on the roof or behind me, it was surprisingly stable and acceleration / braking were excellent. I drove with the moonroof shade slid back so I could keep an eye on the kayaks, it was too quiet up there :-)

The one thing I did notice was the blind spot monitoring seemed to go off at random times, particularly when turning slowly. Not sure if it was somehow tricked by the trailer swinging wide or if it was an electrical quirk, but once I disconnected everything at the end of the trip all was normal. Trailer lights all worked properly.

Why was the laptop connected to it?

I was writing an estimate for the collision damage. Engine bays are just a good resting place for the laptop, and believe it or not are usually less greasy than a shop floor....as the laptop will go on my lap occaisonally.

My New 2013 CX9 GT

1st post as a new owner of a 2013 CX-9 GT w/ Tech. Love the vehicle so far. Only changes are adding the roof rails and tinting front windows to match the rest which is 20%. I'm thinking I wish it was a bit darker.2013-09-08 17.16.27a.webp
