NEMOC Random BS Thread

Well it's been a long week. Monday I was not far from the bombings at all. Was supposed to go to the Bruins game but that was thankfully postponed, before then we spent the day in town watching the marathon and catching a movie for Ryan's bday.

Thursday night I was basically at 3rd street in Cambridge the same time that the Mercedes the bombers stole was carjacked. I spent all day Friday listening to the police scanner at work, watched the press conference at 6pm at work, got home to find out that they had found him, 5 minutes later. Crazy.

Ryan and I had almost gotten an apartment on Birch Street in Watertown, the next street over from where he was found.

Nuts.

Plus serious issues at work that's just f****ng depressing. Bike race tomorrow morning and I can't wait.

yeah.. a friend of mine from high school had the SWAT team go through her house. She lives in Watertown. She wasn't too far from where he was found.

Morning All.

Spent Sunday working around Mom's house. Biggest job was attaching the mower deck to the tractor. No instructions, used to that. Worst part was removing the twin blades so I could sharpen them. Looks like they hadn't been off since new.

Mom's still in the hospital. Irregular heart beat, which can happen, will keep her there till it settles down in a day or so. She is doing well otherwise.

Finally getting some warmer weather. Looks decent for the rest of the week.

I'm glad your Mom is doing well, that's very good to hear.

Instructionless projects are my specialty lol. Once you get a feel for working on a piece of equipment, small changes between different brands / models ain't nothin' but a thayng ;). I had to do some on my mower last week when the front wheel drive stopped working, had to do some on my weed eater, and helped do some maintenance on my neighbor's mower. Gotta love it.

Yeah.. I'm pretty good with my deere. I've fixed a few things with it.

I fixed my snowblower too. Granted it was just a belt issue, but I felt pretty awesome.

Was at EMS the other day and picked up one of these for LRP :)

Thanks Andrew. She is doing well. Great she is finally back home.

The tractor is running well. Kind of fun mowing, gentleman farmer.

Kyle.. I saw an older V70r up for sale in the Vernon area in my travels yesterday.

my buddy may have sent me a text about the same one. he found out you can buy a 98-2000 v70r awd auto and swap in the 6spd from the 04-07 s60r/v70r. he wants me to do that but im still leaning towards a turbo NA for a project.

so I have found the new house that ill be getting with two friends. it wont have quite as much space as the pool house but its going to be way cheaper to heat/cool, is much more modern and updated, has a large deck and back yard. only downfall is its a town house but only the really cool landlord lives next door. also, its 2.1 miles from work so ill rarely be driving my car to work, love it

As far as the fun/price factor goes, the NA might be a better choice. I know I'm biased considering I own an NA, but Miatas are just STUPID cheap to work on and modify.

Although I have to admit, if you strip the interior of the volvo and make it an AWD hoonwagon, that's kind of awesome too.

Hey!

Great to hear your mom is doing well Bruce!!!

So jelly of all of you with your fancy mowers with cupholders. Mine has none, then again it's a push mower. haha

Did a nice wetsand and polish to the headlights over the weekend on the P5. Applied some UV block afterwards so hopefully they will stay looking like this for many years to come.

^ now all you need are projectors :)

in the future i do plan to take out the interior of the p5 and put a bed/kitchenette in there like they did on topgear. at the point when the car really isnt worth much

bwahahahahahaha. are you going to have a full tea service back there too?

dangit.. now I can't remember what top gear was doing when they put the table and such in the back of a car.

edit: now I remember what I'm thinking of. Clarkson thought he could design a better interior and made the "anne hathaway's cottage" car, complete with wood burning stove
