AWR Mount for DD?

Thanks man! Yeah man, the 2 is a great handling car.. now if only it had around 40 more hp -_- aha.

hahaha, I feel your pain there. The MSP community says the same thing all the time. The protege is an outstanding car when it comes to handling. It really surprises people at autocross events. But in the power department, it is lacking a lot. To make decent power with it requires a good bit of work. But Im at the point where I have everything needed to support and more than likely exceed 500hp, with the exception of a built motor and trans. Im in the process of saving up for those..lol. But I think I have done enough talking in this thread..lmao. Back on topic, sorry guys

Okay, so yeah, then it's just the vibrations from the mount. I can't think of any reason that the mount would increase noise levels coming out of the exhaust system, at it's exit.

i ordered mine like 2 weeks ago and still hasnt gotten here!!! what is it with my luck and stuff getting shipped.. anyways, i called and they said it is on its way, just a delay due to high demand... oh well.

Finally arrived... im assuming its a straight swap using factory bolts and all since it came with nothing but the mount.. no bolts or instructions or anything.

Straight swap my man. You may need to fiddle with it, until it fits into place. Straight forward install though.. check out the How-To section where I posted in the AWR Install thread, if you'd like a sense of direction.

Just got mine installed on Saturday, pretty easy, but everyone here said to install the trans side first. I found it much easier to get the subframe side threaded first, then get the tranny side in. When i was on the floor, i couldn't seem to get enough leverage from the awkward position to get the bolt to line up on the subframe side while pushing the engine back a little. Once i did the subframe first getting the tranny side in was pretty easy, once everything is threaded then just tighten em up!

^^ me too -- I had to do the subframe side first, then it was easy. For some reason it jammed up when I tried tranny side first...

A rubber mallet and some WD-40 will be your best friend when installing an AWR mount.

It wasn't hard at all, it just took a tiny bit of convincing.

Been running this mount for a almost a week now, and i have to say, definitely the best 70 bucks you can put into your 2.

I have the 70 duro version and am really happy with it. As far as vibrations go its really not bad at all. I was a little worried after reading here, reviews of the NVH seemed across the board, but i would say its actually lower than i anticipated. When you first start the car you get a really deep rumble, i really like that, sounds like a sports car. From idle to about 1200 rpm you have a little bit more vibrations but they definitely negligible. One thing i really like its the throttle response improvement, one thing this mount fixes that I've never seen posted is the reverse -> first throttle lag. Every time i would back out of a spot, then go into first and give it gas...nothing, I've even stalled because i'm so used to just going, never had this happen since installing the mount throttle is ready to roll as soon as you are.

Downshifting is INSANELY better, totally solves the horrible weight transfer problem, I was always super jealous of how well my friend's S2000 would downshift, and i basically have that level of predictability now with my 2.

Can't really comment on Wheel hop as i never launch the car, but it's supposed to help.

For daily driving, and for $70, this is by far the best thing you can get for your 2, installation is a breeze and the price is right.

I'm glad you guys like the AWR mount so much, you guys are definitely tough. It made driving my car completely miserable. Shifting, clutch, and throttle response were so much better though.
