What have you done to your P5 today?

Stopped by the dealer today to see the 2014 6. It was stunning in person! Then I walked over to the used car lot and saw a nice black 2009 MS3 debadged with exhaust. Also stumbled across a 2001 Protege sedan that took me aback. 204K, all four wheels were in bad shape and the rear ds quarter panel had a hole in it from rust....price on the windshield read $2995!!!! WTF?!

I was looking at Tercels a couple months back (don't ask why) and I found one in great shape at a Honda dealer. It had 350K Km on the odometer, manual trans, no A/C, and they wanted a little over $3k for it! I think they do that to make bargaining easy for the customer ... or they're nuts.

Just by you saying great shape, I'd buy it for 3k over the Protege I saw today. I'm sure they do it for bargaining purposes but IMO this car should have never made it to the lot to be seen by customers. I should stop back in on Sunday to take some pics.

The new 6s are so purrdy. That and the Altima. My dad went and got the 2012, the 2013 looks soooooo much nicer. I wish he'd have picked up a Mazda though. So we could be twins
I look around at P5s and it actually makes me very happy I went for this one. Local dealers asking 5.5k and upwards for P5s with 110+k and ratty bodies. Now, I know our cars aren't really known for being rust free but yeah... 4k and 85k miles yes please

Dealer prices are stupid high on the cars because they're buying the car (most likely) for what YOU would pay from a private seller, then add in their markups to protect their margins to keep their doors open and, of course, purchase more cars to sell at ridiculous prices. And yes, I included trade-ins as a purchase to include new car dealers. It's all a game of profits.

True that. that looked at a local dealer, he owns only one place, and there was this p5 he had bought at an auction in FL and transported it up here, fixed an airbag sensor light. That aside, it had 120k and looked quite nice. 7k.
I gotta say, the bloke is very nice but all his prices are quite high. I mean, 6.5k for a Blazer with 170k on the clock? Ill pass.

The mazdaspeed axle back drone can't be half as bad as my car... My first cat on my car had the studs ripped out by an idiot mechanic in November so I've been running a stock manifold and the first cat only since then until I can get a header. That is the loudest drone I've ever heard... I've been pulled over twice in the last 2 weeks for how loud it is and was given a ticket yesterday over it. (five-0) Both cops complimented the sound but weren't too happy with how loud it was. lol
New ignition wires, wash and wax/ full detail. And.....

$7K was the sticker price on mine with 121k miles... plus financing. I know........... oops.(drunk)
You would be shocked at the obnoxious noise the little 1.5L Z5 engine made with the same problem. I drove her a good 12K miles on the manifold and first cat. No tickets for me though.

Changed my leds for the rear license plate frame. Looking up how to install my Type1 HKS turbo timer.
Oh I know loud... I drove 25 miles on the freeway with an open header after I installed my Pacemaker header ... that was insane.
On topic - installed MSP gauge cluster faces.

well my fiasco was that it was on CL for 3250, then sold, then up a few days later for 4700. I called the seller up and (stupidly) paid 4 for it. (I maybe should have offered 3350 seeing as I knew he was flipping the car... But im sure he knew that other people weren't privy to the fact that it was previously for sale in Ann Arbor). He said if I pay 4700, he's got a mech friend who worked at a Mercedes dealer who was going to do the rear quarter panels and hatch bodywork but I asked what the lowest was he was going to go and he said 4 and I said DEAL asap. I was willing to pay 4400 tbh...
She's mine outright though, which im happy about. In the end I think its all about finding the right seller at the right time in the right place.
