Hi y'all. My wife and I are set on getting a CX-5 Touring FWD without the Tech or Bose package. Does anyone know what the S-Plan pricing on that would be? I looked in the sticky above but didn't see an example like that.

Thanks in advance!

Also, could someone tell me who is eligible for the S-plan? I googled it and found a PIN number online, so I could fill out the form..but I don't work for Mazda so am I allowed to? I don't get it.

It isn't just for Mazda employees. S-Plan pricing is available to vendors and suppliers as well. I'm not sure what is required in addition to a PIN (i.e. identification or proof of employer)

Well I saw in the pricing sticky thread someone said to google "mazda s plan" if you needed a "friend" and I did and found a pin. Can I use that or is that not allowed?

Ah. I get my S-plan pricing through work. I haven't asked the dealer what I need to use to verify my eligibility though.

it is invoice price. if a dealer tells you s-plan is above invoice they are lying.

and honestly, it shouldnt be hard at all to get most cars for invoice (or less)
cx-5 specifically would be harder, since they are in high demand, but not impossible if youre patient and cross shop dealers.
dont think that the only way to get a good deal on a cx-5 is via s-plan. splan just makes it more simple

however, on a larger scale, invoice price is a joke now. Since consumers know what it is now via edmunds etc, invoice pricing has crept up to be very close to MSRP. Just look at the cx-5. iirc msrp is barely 1k above invoice!
So a dealer can say "This is what we pay so I cant go any lower without losing money". They show you the order fulfilment form from the manufacturer. Its very hard to argue against.
The first part is true, technically it is what the dealer "pays" for the vehicle. The second part is a lie, dealer profit has shifted to post sale payments and bonuses from the manufacturer, which are of course much harder for the consumer to find out and negotiate with.

Certain organizations can also give you S-Plan benefits if you join them. EAA is one of them but I think you have to be a member for at least a year before being able to get and S-Plan pin # to use. Basically it is invoice pricing + any other rebates, holdback or other price breaks without any haggling. Only certain vehicles will be officially eligible for the S-Plan. Below is a link with some further info:

The salesman I spoke to today told me that MSRP on a Touring FWD with no options is $24990 (including delivery) and S-plan pricing is $24296 (including delivery), or a savings of $694 off MSRP.

Bingo! That's what I paid for mine in SoCal two months ago less $500 Mazda owner loyalty (which I presume is no longer in effect). That is invoice price.
