Any Complaints (hopefully all minor)

Big complaint - no memory seats. As I had this with CX-7 2.2 Diesel, and as I'm 1,90m and my wife 1,63m (although she claims to be 1,65m) this is really annoying.

Also, nav screen is too small (5.8"), looks ugly and definitely spoils great interior (like it doesn't belong there). If Juke can be equipped with 7" screen I see no reason why not opting for larger one in Mazda. This one would be acceptable:

No vents for rear passengers (on console between seats)

No aluminuim/reinforced footrest

No sport-mode in automatic (you do have manual over-ride though)

TPMS - doesn't show which specific tire is under-inflated, nor it shows pressure for each tire (like new Altima for instance)

No LED tail-lights (only halogen) as oppose to CX-7, mazda 3...

Cheers,
Miki

Memory seats should be an option, especailly when you have other gems like BSM and adaptive lighting.
However, the only adjustment I make when my wife and I switch driving is sliding the seat front to back. So it doesn't bother me too much.

Another good one I saw mentioned here is no automatic sunroof closeure. That is annoying. And on that note...

My Speed6 has auto up/down on all four windows, which is seriously the best feature I have ever owned in a car. I wish, not only that it was more common across all makes/models, but an option on other Mazdas as well.

I have to add that the tpms is pretty much useless. Like the boy that cried wolf. Mine seems to go off one a week lately and when I check the tires they are all still at 34-35 psi. I kind of ignore it now so if I were to actually get a flat I probably wouldn't check.

Have you initialized the TPMS lately? If not, that might fix things...

Yes, when working properly/fixed, it's actually helpful.

See owners manual pages 4-72, 4-73 for intialization procedure.

Yeah, each time it went off and I checked the tires and they were fine. I'd then reset it the next morning before driving. About once a week it goes off, everything checks out fine so I reset it.

So far mine is going well except from the rattle I am having from the dash.....first rattle was fixed but traded for another rattle. Details in another post. Lucky for me I like to have the stereo on so it is not really a big deal....but i want it fixed none the less. I did notice the material coming loose from the seat a bit but I was able to tuck it back in. I will keep in eye on to make sure it does not get worse.

Thanks for the reply Snowie. Have you seen the posts on some seat clips being changed out for some? Is this similar to what you are seeing?

Hi Nodnerb, Have you checked the pressure in the spare? Not sure if the Mazda tpms monitors the spare or not but some makes do. With the colder nights we are starting to see maybe it is dropping pressure at night then after you reset the air temp rises enough in the car to check good for a while.

the mazda system doesn't use sensors in the wheels, it uses the traction control/abs system to monitor wheel speed to determine proper inflation

iPhone 5

I can't my new iPhone 5 to show up as iPod when connected via the cable. It connects via Bluetooth, so it's useable but not ideal. It charges fine, so I can't quite tell if the cable and the new lightning connector itself is the problem or if its the Mazda.

Well after driving my GT for about a month, I'm very satisfied with it. That said there are always minor issues that could use improving. Most have already been mentioned but here are my minor concerns.
1. No lights in the drive door controls, very difficult to find the correct buttons at night, I suppose I'll get used to it.
2. As previously mentioned by others, placement of the clock is too low, actually so are the other controls around it (heat,AC, etc). This whole grouping needs to be a bit higher in the dash.
3. Water seems to collect on the rearview camera making vision very blurry.
4. Confusion with local dealer as to regarding TPMS system and whether there is anything required on the rims, he says yes, everywhere else says no.
5. Zeal red paint pen from dealer backorderd almost 4 weeks..really?
6. Light in luggage compartment very dim.

All these items are minor...but they do add up. I do find my GT to be excellent so far, but there is room for a few tweaks of improvement.

Can hear the fuel in the gas tank sloshing around when moving at low speeds, like backing up.

Really?! Haven't noticed this yet. I'm pretty good about detecting audible (sometimes barely) anomalies.
I will listen more closely next time I'm in it.
My 72' Chevy features gas tank placement behind the bench seat in the cab. When I rode around in it as a kid, the sloshing around of the petrol always freaked me out. I always worried we were going to blow up or something. lol!

I don't know how common these silly floor mat button things are, but it's the first I have seen of them on the CX-5. I like the good old fashioned little clips that just fit in the reinforced hole in the mat. These button things that keep the front mats in place are a serious PITA. I have already pulled the entire male portion of the button out of its setting in the floor carpet a dozen times. Seriously chaps my ass.

I'll listen for fuel sloshing noise, but in first 7 months and 10K miles I have not heard it. I have good hearing.

I've found the TPMS to be a very useful feature. I had one "false" alarm shortly after delivery but then I reset all tires to within .5 psi of each other when they were completely cold and it hasn't sounded off in the last 2200 miles. If you do the reset after the car has been in the sun, some tires will likely be warmed by the sun and this will cause the pressures to vary at a later time. I recommend doing the TPMS reset before the sun rises or after the car has been sitting in the shade for a few hours.

Yes, TPMS is useful, I have it on all my cars and they work as expected. I've had one false alarm in 10K miles on my CX-5, no problem since I reset per instructions in owners manual. I check/adjust my tire pressures first thing in morning in garage, using a small $100 compressor.

I agree with all these. I would add that the moonroof doesn't close with a "one-touch" which people have mentioned before. The screen doesn't bug me too much, until I get in my fiance's Hyundai Elantra and I see the ~7.4 in screen.

One minor nag - I miss that chrome/metal frame around all side windows like in CX-7, gives premium feel...
Also, with CX-5 too much of black plastic is pronounced (on the sides, arches, back...) I know it's there for protection, but still, maybe they should have added some chrome/metal accents... don't know (I like new X3 and the way BMW did it, plastic is there but in far less amount).

Did I already mention (optional) painted plastic for underbody front/back protection that mimics steel plates?

BTW, is there any way you can change sound setting for parking sensors distance? I want to have continuous "beep" when I'm much closer to obstacle than default.

Cheers,
Miki
